Need some help guys...Poll time!

I have a whooshing sound that equates to a chopping noises 40mph and above in the rear. I at first thought it may be the rotor or brake pads, but after changing out the pads the rotor looks good and the old pads were wearing evenly. Also, i was wondering if the drums may cause this. I spoke to a friend and he suggested that possibly i may have a broken thread (internal) in the tire. Following that i did a visual inspection and didn't see any tire deformities. I've had these wheels on my car forever and drive it errywhere w/o this sound. The only thing i've changed was the tire but the sound wasn't apparent then, it just started about a month ago. Any knowledge of this and info is greatly appreciated....got anything for guys?:shrug:

switch the rears around and see if the sound moves..then its your rim or tire....
But it could be you inside drums....Maybe when we get working on the back lets check the bearings we should of done that....hope this helps

Thats a thought but i may get different sounds cuz the directional tire tread...if it werre the bearings wouldn't it sound all grindy?

I just spoke to one of my co-workers (used to run a tire shop) and he said it might be something in the tire (i.e. nail, bolt, lodged in the tire). We didnt see anything in there though?

Could it be your wheel bearings going south?

Nah, not the right kind of sound for a bearing...i starting to believe its a tire issue though..

Not too sure about your issue but I know I had "chopping" sounds coming from my control arms when the ball joints and bushings were going out.  Went away after they were replaced.

I'm really leaning in this direction now...Just got my tires flipped and sound is still there. I looked in the gs repair guide and it doesn't seem all that complicated but IDK cuz ive never done this kinda work before. So i would appreciate some input from you guys, also as a added bonus i just discovered a small crack in the inner lip of my rim....:pat: Raining = Pouring (fuk that!!!) Raining = Broke! Should I try to do this? or Any recommendations to go in Northern San Diego? Much appreciated. Looks like 1 new rear bearing cost around 60-100 bucks...:shrug:Not sure about cost for job either...

go online and look up how to chang e a bearing out.....and if it isnt much diffrent then most cars we can do this .....i just changed mine last weekend.....
