My 94 LS400 build thread.

hey guys. never really introduced myself around the forums. my name is mike i'm Mr.Euro on Clublexus and CleanE34 on Bimmerforums, i've been lurking around for quite a while and figured i'd post up a build thread of my LS. it started off as a replacement for my old 91 525i w/ 261k on the clock. motor was abused by PO so it went easy. i'm a college kid so excuse the cheapness of some of my mods. i'll let the pics do the talking from here.

got it off an old lady for 3k. has about 48k. some say its a rollback, who cares. it runs nice and NYS/insurance believes it. lol.
 
first mods, Blackout grill and IS350 wheels.

soon after i snagged a great deal on a set of SC430s.

bascially i didn't do much between getting the sc430 other than spraying them black, i added an exhaust, HIDs, tints, and coilovers. progress pics below.

then the Coilovers came, props to chris(rideslow on CL) for getting me these at a seriously cheap price.

oh and the addition of the "NO fat chicks, car will scrape" sticker.
 
after about a week or so of driving around, the day i paint my emblems black and lady sideswipes me and damages the car pretty badly. the car goes into the shop in a few hours(8 to be exact) and will be resprayed the correct way, 2 coats of primer, 3 coats of XXXXXXX and 3 coats of gloss.

ahh man that ls was clean when you had the sc wheels the silver color.

People need to stop murdering out their cars. You can't see any details. I like the ride height though.

those plate covers literally covered so many imperfections in the wheels.i'm looking at newer wheels since i have a BBK system sitting right next to me.

diggin the different approach and style but personally the tails blacked out is too much for my taste. Keep doin your own thing though with updates of new paint, oh and get some spacers or new wheels to get that shit flush.

new wheels are coming soon along with some new suspension goodies, and once the car comes back from the shop, i'll post a pic of it up.

ironically. i don't get pulled over much. weird huh? i live in NY with 15% tints and blacked out tails and i only gotten pulled over by a cop simply to say my taillight was out.

Looks great keep us posted on your mods. What next after the new wheels?? Body kit??

possibly. i was looking at lip kits. wald possibly or if i ever get enough money, a JP kit.

just a little toomuch black ... like the tails unless you get some L.E.D tails it would set it off nicely ... and some wheels

so i visited my body shop yesterday afternoon and got some pics of the progress. lots of work is done at the moment and it looks pretty smooth all around. debadging is happening and some shaving as well. i took these with my cell phone. so not the best quality lol.

thanks man. lady sideswiped me so i had no choice other than to get the paint work done. i had em debadge the car and shave the antenna while it was going under body work.

since the car is in the body shop,you might as well roll the fenders.

so i guess its time for an update amirite?
 
so far i've de-murdered the car since i got way too many pullovers from it
 
new mods were:
 
RBR tails(red/black/red)
SC430s repainted gold with polished center cap and gold bolts
25mm Ichiba spacers in the rear
rolled fenders
Orion H2 w/ Hifonics Brutus amp
 
next up for the winter is
 
Retrofitting tables for the rear
rewrapping most of the fabric interior in suede
monitors
air suspension
center console rebuild
mercedes benz blue tint

ok I like the car, but in my own mind the wheels don't fit the look of the car..

Not feeling the wheels but I like the semi murdered look much more then the old look.

most likely a K-sport/UAS combo. gotta make sure it drops and raises fast, especially since i daily it and i'm gonna have some decently offset wheels in the back.

thanks for the comments guys. definatly i'll update with more pics once new goodies start coming in. as of now, the LS400 is taking a big break since i bought another project car. a 88 cressida, basically a LS400 with supra parts lol. can't seem to stay away from toyota.

i like it...its something different than what you normally see in us vip

hmmm hard to say at this point of how the car looks,

you know airride is as actually a company when everyone refers to it. Its air ride technologies. should say suspension

so i finally got some rims. i opted for a set of BBS RC090s from a BMW E39 528i sport. gonna do the 30mm adaptors on them once they get refinished. pics to come once its finished. that and the car is back in the shop for some more major bodywork since it got hit on NYE.

Sorry but the wheels look like crap now.They looked 10000x better when they were all silver.Spray painting wheels gold is something you would see on a 88 Civic.

What BBK do you have?

fitment looks onpoint. could you uncock the wheel though to see where the fronts are? (please) IMO the tails woulda looked way cleaner ie: flowed better if they were just strait blocked out all RED. But then again I'm a feind for all red tails (Corvette, Bently, old skool rice, etc, etc) again just MOA so take it for what it's worth. I do have to say that I'm loving the sqwat dogg, looks perfect from that 3/4 rear shot. wanna know more.

no bbk. stock LS400 brakes. might do supras calipers since one of my friends might do a brembo BBK on his MKIV

eh so i got hit on NYE and now i'm selling the car. idk how you guys do it, but i got tired of the VIP scene quick. got my self a E34 touring, soon to have 5spd, turbo, built motor.
