Laggy F50, yes I know the ITB.

Just wondering if anyone has actual experience w/ ITB 02048 on an '03+ F50. I printed out the TB from Ifiniti tech online and it says that the it only applies to 02. Sure enough when I called three different dealers, they run my VIN and say that it does not show up. My car came w/ the pedal upgrade but I can't help but feel some hesitation on the downshift when I floor it on the freeway. Just doesn't seem as fast as it should. Sorry if the wrong forum. Thanks.

the downshifting and all that is probably ur ECU... It's expensive to get it updated.

You can also ask on infinitihelp.com on their community

our transmission just isnt the greatest for hammering the pedal. you gotta get a good feel of the car to tear it up.

Freshalloy is the place to go for this I agree. I have an 02 without the upgrade, i have not heard of anyone with an 03 having the same throttle problem. It is still a luxury car and not designed for quick acceleration. Just get a feeling for the car it will surprise you when needed. Also check your tcs, if this is on i always find hesitation in the acceleration no matter what gear your in. If off youll hopefully find more throttle response.

Off the line I feel my 02 has plenty of torque and pulls well all the way to red. For a V8 this car actually has a high redline. Some people complain about the downshifting at low speeds to pass cars or for onramp getup and go.

It is quite tough to keep this car in the right gear or get it to downshift when you need it. I was pretty sad when a G35 4 door smoked me because my car wouldn't downshift until I switch to manual mode.

If you start from a stop, with the traction off, manual shift it into 1 and floor it. Watch your shift points and this will help show when the car goes into what gear and at what speed. This atleast showed me when to use manual vs auto mode. I also use the manual mode to down shift with my foot off the throttle when slowing down just to chek what gear i can be at at a certian speed.

Individual throttle bodies would be cool...lol

the accelerator / TCM upgrade for this TSB was only for the 02 models. 03 + models were corrected from the factory. First year is always the test mule...
I don't know how many times I almost got rear ended trying to merge on the freeway.. that lag is not only annoying but freakin dangerous. they should fix that shit for free vs charging over $1k if you are out of warranty.

So true :( Plenty of power but it is damn annoying when it won't downshift for you.
