Work hardware

hey guys, i figure this would be the best place for this question.

I am going to refinish my VS-SDs in the near future, and I want to get some gold hardware for them.  I'm sure I could try and anodize or powder coat the existing hardware, but does anyone know what thread pitch is necessary in case I try to find a different style of bolt?  Thanks in advance guys.

No idea but having your existing hardware gold plated is not expensive at all. MAYBE $30 at the most. Questdex "plating service" and call around.  I found a place locally to plate my wheels one color, my lips another, and the hardware another for $140 for everything.

dang, that sounds like the way to go then.  I've found BBS hardware, but it is insanely expensive compared to that, probably 180$ for all new stuff.  thanks for the info.

I wouldn't plate used assembly hardware. They are already somewhat fatigued and more plating could create hydrogen embrittlement issues. And you can't use off-the-shelf Home Depot hardware because it isn't a high enough grade.

The question isn't really thread pitch, it bolt/thread diameter. Most wheels use 8mm bolts, whereas some old school stuff was made with 7mm (including Kinesis). That being said,you should be looking for M7x1.25 or probably M8x1.25 pitch.
