Project dies

So today I was driving down a street  and I hear a fat QQQEEEERRRRKKKKK!!!I book it to my ex's house and I find out my oil pan got a hole in it and starts leaking oil.So to make a long story short my oil pan busted and I got my car towed home.It's not over yet but check this out my car was on a flat bed and as soon as we hit my exit to my house my car fell off the flat bed and rolled into another car.How?I dunno I still don't believe it until now.So I'm here for suggestions should I buy the car and part it out or just take the money and buy a new car?I was thinking taking the money, buying a new Q45 and parting out my old one.Any ideas?Thanks.I'm kinda drunk so I dunno.:dance:By the way I'm most likely gonna get the car paid off so how much might that be?I saw on KKB that it's 3k but I dunno.

Can't you just replace the oil pan?

The quater panel kinked up a bit making the trunk not alinge right.I'll take a few pics later I mean to fix my rear bumper, front bumper, repaint it, fix the qauter panel kink,etc etc comes out more than the car's value.My plan was to contact my Auto teacher that I had and talk to him about running no oil pan as he did to his race car.Or just get a plate welded on it but now I can't so eh.

Well you need an oil pan.  Sounds like parting out the car is the best idea if you don't know how to fix it yourself.  You could do all the prep work yourself and get your car painted for under $500.  It's all about how you go at it.  If you go that route and want more information/tips let me know I can explain what you need to do.

Well this old guy in Nico just wont get off my NUTS he keeps saying that it happened because my car was so low blah blah and then this insurance lady from my fathers insurance basically harassed me and put me on his policy.Well whatever he's cutting the insurance off so no biggy.The rear quater panel it bent on the passenger side so I say it's totaled.I'm just gonna let them take the car and pay me so I can get a new one.I already swapped the rims and suspension to OEM.Hopefully the money I get is worth a bit like 3k or atelas 2.5k.Eh we'll see I guess.What a crazy story though hahaha.

Damn, falling off the flatbed is bad luck! Was the towtruck driver new at it or something?
 
Have to say, when they took my car to the smash repairs, my towie gunned it to make a traffic light; on a right hand corner. I looked back and i saw my car sliding on the tray; only stopped by the 1" lip on the side of the tray (I thought it was chained down, but that didnt seem to do anything).

I hope I get good money too.I'm taking unnoticeable parts off so I can make side cash.Car is back to OEM suspension and stock wheels.The truck driver also told me a story,as we were going to my house after he strapped the car back down WITH CHAINS lol,that same thing happened to a Porsche he was towing.Wierd that's crazy but hey sh*t happens you know?Well Late guys.

I think its time to get ANOTHER towie hahaha that guy sounds like he cant work his own truck!
 
Good luck with the insurance. In my case they also covered things that were in the car that got damaged, which was worth an extra $500 (unfortunately for me they were really damaged though. Sessions neckpads... gone! :sad:)

So it has OEM suspension now and everything else OEM check it out.Took pictures of the damage to make it visible as much as possibly but it still looks better in person so here it is.Doesn't look like much but the frame messed up.Also today I remembered from that night that when the guy ran out to hold my car back before it ran into another car he opened the door and put the car in P (parking) so he left it in N (neutral).Makes more sense why the car rolled off from a 4ft high bed.:pat:

wsit:The towing company is called American Tow and seem to be good but the guy who towed mine wasn't so good as he did tell me that he once dropped a Porsche 7yrs ago.Anyways as I had my car jacked up and removing the rear suspension the guy came to take pictures and I straight up said I'm putting all the OEM things because insurance don't cover that and he said it's okay.He took pictures and said he will block out the part that shows no suspension.Gonna call the towing owner first to settle things before I hit his insurance.

That was what I was gonna do get it welded or possibly run a no pan racing setup but never got in touch with my teacher who did that.:shrug:Hopefully I get another VIP platform so we'll see tomorrow what happens.

take out the tail lights and headlights they are worth loot.

I have to talk to the boss first and see what he says.If he let's me remove parts after he said the price I will cause you know how they are when you remove parts.

Man that sucks, but this maybe the sign that you need to get another car. Not sure how much of a newer platform you can get for 3k but if you have other funds to add on to it then, by all means do it.

dang thats crazy.. i say new car dont even try to touch that old car.  that looks like too much damage to even think about parting out or fixing

I know the Tow company owner said he'll come and look at it.He asked me how much I think it's worth I said 3k because I fixed the engine.Meaning injectors,valve covers,plenum,hoses,etc etc.I'm not to bummed out though I'm just stressed since I need a car ASAP because of school.I might not get another VIP platform but I hope I do.My dad was even telling me how badass my car was hahaha.It's one of the smoothest cars he's driven other than a brand new Yukon we used to have.

Guy said $2500 and they take the car.If that's the case I want the entire interior.Other than that I'm sticking to $3000 because with $2500 I can't get anything decent that may last.Even a stock honda goes for $2500+.Eh he suppose to call back hasn't yet.He came with his kid he was like 17-19 probably and was telling me about how he look in KBB and excellent was $3100.I'm like my engine is excellent KBB goes about how the exterior looks.

Well like my I said I will not go any lower than 3k if they do and insurance gets involved then I'll just sue them.I half assed putting the OEM suspension on since they trash it.Also he was talking about the car being drivable and this and that I'm like I'm not gonna be driving a frame bent car sorry.I took the first gear TCU out and ABS so hopefully the car still functions.I also took out my hids and bulbs so the car has no headlights that work.:dance:Anyways the guy still hasn't called.I really don't have time to sue but the main story goes like this:My dad was driving the car at the time and called me over to wait for the tow truck and call it in as mine for his insurance (they don't know the car was 2inch off the ground since the Boss saw it today).So I'm just speaking for my dad and I was suppose to take that car to UTI and that's why we dumped 3-4k into the engine (more like body and engine) and the car runs perfectly fine.Want proof pop my hood.Car has 130,691 orignal miles and 10k ever since I did the top half the engine.I also keep telling them I'm screwed and have no car for school now so hopefully like the guy said it may not take a few days.:thelaw:

Talked to my mom about suing.She said if we don't get 3k then and insurance also gives us a low price we'll just refuse and sue.:shrug:

welcome to the world of sueing ...its a great place.....but it takes some time..but you can add on all types of money because time and grief that cost a few grand....i think they'll go for the 3000 because they dont want there insurance involved for a $500 diffrence in price....

Well they are lagging and I found a great 240sx.Sorry guys I probably won't go with another platform unless the guy I emailed with the Q45 replies.Well the guy said he can't do anything with the claim unless he talks to the other guy to see what damage he got and I already told him he got scuffed possibly needing a paintjob.We'll see later he said he'll call.

He offered me a 2003 Pontiac Sunfire with 90k on it retails at 5,900.Take it or try and get the 3k to get the 240sx?I posted the Sunfire on CL incase I get a buyer its at 4k OBO.

Take it and sell it the sunfire.  That would not be a bad situation.  You could even trade it straight up for a Q or LS or something at a bargain lot.

I called 3 places and they told me with the economy the Sunfire is not a car to be noticed.I think I might just take 3k.
