Newby with a Previa

I've been lurking for a while, figured I'd drop in and say Hi and throw up a pic of my Previa... I've always wanted one, and finally bought one last week. We were in the market for a minivan and I told my girlfriend that I wanted a Previa... she said she swore she'd never drive a minivan, but said the VIP-style ones looked good...

I work with Solo, so I'm no stranger to the VIP stuff.. looking forward to this project.

Here's a pic:

It's a 1994 LE, 187k, All-Trac, runs decent, and the interior is like brand new... I've never seen one so clean. and it has the captain's chairs...

I will have some questions as time goes on, mainly about the All-Trac and dropping it proper.. but for now it's in the paint shop getting a quicky spray of black, I'm painting the bumper covers and side skirts for the moment, until I can get a body kit... I'll blend it in later, I just want to get it black with some kind of wheels until winter.

I'd like to find a big rear wing, a not-too-radical front bumper (the terrain here is rough)... some smooth side skirts and a decent rear cover... dual tip exhaust, JDM lights, Work Euroline wheels, air suspension, and a hardwood floor... that would be rad.

I just got it, so I'm going to do the mechanical stuff, check it out, and then start sourcing the parts... it is in the paint shop, I'll post some more pics when it's sprayed.

My first question is, can I slam it with the All-Trac?

Nice plans.

Go for something other than WORK Eurolines. There are plenty of wheels out there to choose from.

Yeah.. I've always liked the look of the DH's.. I'll find something. I do know that I want a five-spoke kind of design over a mesh, and preferably a three piece (looking?) design. I've been thinking about black centers with silver lips, too.

DH.....those wheels are Classics. You really can't go wrong with them. I think that it especially works well with the Egg because both the Egg and the Wheel design are pretty ol' skool styles. DH is definately in my top 5 wheels.

Alltrac.....I believe that there was someone else on here which had one. Not sure about suspension options but I am sure if you find the Egg "Code" and search Yahoo Auctions Japan something will pop up.

Good luck with the build!

That's what I was thinking... It comes out of the paint shop tomorrow, I'm pretty happy to be able to drive it and tinker with the mechanicals.. does anyone make a comprehensive shop manual?

Well, it's out of the paint shop... I'm going to let the paint kick over and gas out and then color sand and buff, but it looks killer all black. They put some bumper primer/flex agent stuff on all the plastic panels. Will work until I get a body kit... Now, to find some wheels and get it lowered...

Also, my uncle is going to help me install a wood floor, anybody have pics of what they did around the edges??

take a look at this magazine Style-wagon maybe... looks like they used something like plywood cut into 3 sections to make the floor then stained it... this was my plan, but the floor of the Odyssey is too uneven.... the last one I saw had the seats out, and the areas each had cutouts for the seat bracket mounts.....

I like those side panels on that body kit... those are nice with the scalloped panel.

I was looking at actual flooring in Home Depot, and am thinking about going that route. They had some neat stuff that interlocked. I also saw a van once that had some notches cut in the wood to mount the seats, but that was before I got the van and didn't save it. I'd like to keep all the seats...

I'm also digging those side mirrors with the integrated turn signals... know where they came from?

Painted the jambs also... It was under a grand, but I got the bro-deal on the paint job. A buddy I used to work for did it and I'm going to color sand and buff it out myself. (That saves some cash.) I just wanted it black for now, as the old clear coat was peeling and the rear quarter had some small rust issues.
