Do you shave your girl clean?

I could resist the title .
Now that i have totally let you down . Am i only one who is crazy enough to clean the glass with a razor blade ever few months to remove dirt and debris ?
For those that haven;t it removes everything , just use soap and water to lube the glass and very light pressure . It helps with windshield being pitted by removing the high points and flatting it our .
So , do you shave your girl ?

how does it help with pitting?   I can understand contaminants

glass oven top cleaner works real well on body and glass surface for water spot removal. and so does water/white vinegar mix and microfiber cloth. just wash the car with regular car wash soap/water after words.

By using a razor you remove the tops of the chip as it never sheers off the glass cleanly. This removes alot of the high spots and making a smoother surface thus reducing the pitted glass reflections. Its the reason you don;t see flat diamonds as that would never sparkle.

i blade glass all day.

be careful with the windshield, if it is slightly pitted it can dull the blade.  a dull blade will scratch glass easily.

Word. I had some serious hard water stains on the glass of my vehicle when i first got it. I tried everything and a friend told me to try steel wool and it worked like a charm with little effort.

I use a razor blade when its think, but mostly use the finest steelwool pad on the market. Its like double 0, or 0000 or something.... gets anything and everything off....  we used it (when I worked at the body shop) on chrome grills/trims too.... works great..... 

But when razor blading windows, I use wax and grease remover as a lube, like killin 2 birds....

uhmm...id rather spend 12-20 dollars on some autoglym,diamondite,dp glass restorer or something. a razor and steel wool leave microscopic scratches from uneven pressure or nicks and burrs in the blade or steel wool that you probably wont see unless in direct sunlight. i dunno maybe thats just me. i dont even use steel wool on exhaust tips i use actual metal polish. :shrug:    then again there are people with nice cars that regularly wash with dawn and dirty rags and finish with turtle wax that are happy with their methods and will stick by them for whatever reason. thats cool though, cause it gives me business when people need their car refinished or detailed after they have at it.

Only other thread i had was wetsanding .
Not your regular DIY type stuff .

i was just poking fun. cause both threads have diy info but its not the greatest info to be posting up for others to follow, in my honest opinion. its not horrible info.. theres just easier, more professional ways of doing both. oh and with less risk and while saving time :shrug:   wetsanding and razorblades are the last options of todays detailers.

Only way to go IMHO.

I agree it is not for beginners but that is why i do not tell people how to do it , just if others are already doing it . Just like no ones first car is a VIP car usually a tuner or muscle. Same with these questions , no DIY's here just polls.
