OCKlasse Detailed: SAAB 9³ Paint Restoration (49 Pics)
This was my project from Monday. The customer purchased the car used and was looking to have it brought back to "new" standards. It was apparent that this car had never been garaged, and was in fact severely neglected. Both the front and rear bumpers had severe oxidation, and the beginnings of clearcoat failure was rampant on the hood. This car required a lot of wetsanding including the entire hood to get out the oxidation! Hope you enjoy!
I finished the car around 9 PM, so please excuse the lack of adequate afters.

DAMN! Looks good. But the original paint didn't look to be in dire conditions. Still very nice job!

I know pictures are hard to go by, but if you closely on the hood, you can see heavy oxidation. A precursor to cleacoat failure. The hood alone took over two hours in wetsanding and buffing. Probably had to do over 5 or 6 passes to get it good. Wish you could have seen it in person...

I know pictures are hard to go by, but if you closely on the hood, you can see heavy oxidation. A precursor to cleacoat failure. The hood alone took over two hours in wetsanding and buffing. Probably had to do over 5 or 6 passes to get it good. Wish you could have seen it in person...
