FGY33: High output alternator.

The bearings in my alternator are on the way out and I am trying to locate a high output alt to replace it with. Has anyone bought one from somewhere? Or know someone who has made one? The stock replacement Hitatchi one is only 110 amps. I know Irragi have stock ones for the 96-98 Q's, but the part number is one letter off of the 99+'s.

I was going to try and talk to Irragi, Mechman and DC Power to see if any of them can wind a more powerful one. I am looking at around 200 amps, maybe more. Would there be any intrest in this if I could find a place to produce them?

I always thought of putting a system and all that stuff but after going threw a few headaches and wiring demons I am happy with a new OEM battery and OEM alternator lol. That and the High output is only good if you are running some serious music.

i doubt theyll be able to rewind it to 200amps.. the alternator case isnt big enough. they miight be able to wind it to about 150amps...

it can be done, i found  couple places that have 1 year warranty ranging from 500-700

190-200 max..i have the emails at work

If you need any tips on replacing it, let me know. I just replaced mine w/ another Hitachi OEM one on Saturday by myself.  A third hand would have been helpful to hold the rad hose out of the way pulling out / putting in the ALT but either way, I got it done in under 3 hours.
