NEW POLICY!! Two Wheel Thread Limit

There will be a Two Wheel Thread Limit for all members effective immediately. Due to the increase in amount of wheels being posted, we are limiting it to two sets of wheels per every 3 months. So if you posted your last set on August 31, 2009 then you cannot post another set until December 31, 2009. If you notice a member breaking any of our rules, please email admin@vipstylecars.com

Thank you.

I see this only as a disadvantage to both the members and the site. If there are more wheels there is more content/selection which means more views and page hits for the owner of the site so everyone is happy.

I dont see how it would be any advantage if its vice versa.

It is a disadvantage, because then members come on with their personal wheel selling business, and they exploit the site's for sale section for their own personal gain. It is advantageous to set a limit, because it then forces those wheel sellers to get sponsored seller status (which is added revenue for the site, and keeps it running). It may hinder some people who frequently change out rims, but frankly those individuals probably have enough sites they post their rims on that they don't need one more.

Why not just brake down the Wheel and Tire forum into two forums. One for new wheels and one for used wheels. And make the sellers of new wheels register as fenders. Seems this new policy MIGHT direct members to other sites, which seems controdictary to the long time policy of this site not to advertise for other sites. All I know is when Im looking for wheels, I know where to look. I would hate to have to now search around other sites for stuff that would otherwise be here.

"but frankly those individuals probably have enough sites they post their rims on that they don't need one more. "

Thats all well and good but it seem your only thinking about the sellers not her buyers.

Just my 2 cents. Carry on.

truth be told, the rule was aimed and implemented upon one member (who is no longer an issue). 1 quick look in the wheel classifieds will prove that this rule is not inforced and, therefore, not worth bringing up.

I understand that people go thru RIMS like water on VSC and thats fine. I'll be honest with you all, its a tough call. Mainly I am just trying to protect the vendors that sponsor the site and pay to sell here. What I didn't want were people who were not "vendors" and then buying a ton of used wheels and just selling them for personal profit. That in a way then undermines our sponsors of VSC, for its them that helps us pay for the server to keep this place afloat. Anyone that knows me knows that I don't run VSC for personal profit. I've had enough issues with that nonsense and its better to just keep VSC as a "grassroots" operation as much as possible

If you are just going thru rims like water, thats fine. Let me know ahead of time. I don't mind "approving" anyone if they go over the limit just as long as its a legit wheel. I know a lot of us will get a set of wheels, rock it for a few weeks / months then move on the the next one. Thats fine, you guys can sell those wheels to other members. You guys usually post the new setup guys get so we all know that you aren't just trying to profit of our members. I just don't want people who have a habit of buying rims for profit to continue to do so. If anyone really has an issue with this limit, please email me john(at)vipstylecars.com.

This is more lenient than ClubLexus. I got kicked off CL for selling more than 2 "expensive" sets of wheels in a year.....:signdammit:

What if you know we aren't flipping wheels yet we go through wheels like craaaaazy.

I have this same issue on CL. I own three modified Nissans that all run relatively aggressive wheels. I own 6 sets of wheels right now. What if I parted out all my cars and sold all 5 sets?

Nomsayin?
