Can they read our PMs!

Just wondering if the management of VSC can read our PM !!
 
What are the rules for asking a former vendor for prices regardless of their status with VSC chat !
 
how is that different from asking a regular member for their prices,now that they are regular members !
 
WHY is this the case and they have not killed the user name if they don't want ppl talking to a former vendors !
 
what about running 2 user names any rules on that front !

I don't think the mods read the PMs unless there was a complaint or issue.   Private messages should be private.

As a mod, I don't read PMs.

I'm pretty sure that's not even possible.

We also can't prevent you from seeking prices from people other than the vendors, but it is the seller's responsibility to not advertise or otherwise promote their service in a way that may take business from VSC Approved vendors.

1 username per user. Instead of creating a second account, contact VSC Staff to resolve any issues regarding your existing account.

I would think it would be your peroggative to ask someone anything you want in private. Not being a vendor shouldn't matter, however for someone to post up that they are selling items (as a vendor having an array of items to unload) they are pretty much flagged if former vendors and would not be permitted to sling w/o paying dues. For example listing publicly the things they are selling for others to to see as well. These may not be the rulz but this is how i would see it as a conflict.

2. The amount of product you have to sell from stock (not just hanging around).

i think they can view it but they choose not to.
 
but as a long time member, all i will say is that, read the rules/guidelines.
as a fairly new member like you, try not to break the rules and shit.....

Im'a come on out and say it cuz we don't need to be friends, YO! I don't like your tone! ESP don't like to be patronized when i've addressed the majority of your concerns. So first and foremost that needs to stop. Secondly, if your PM's could even be read, who really gives a crap enough to do so. (unless someones a celeb showin nudie pics). We as admins look for the obvious, hmmm kinda like this thread, where peeps are fishin for info....i know this doesnt answer your question either, so maybe you just wont get one. you can ask all you want...but that vendor should know better than to advertise themselves  publicly on this forum. but you should also know better than that. none of us are children here and we all know how to act like adults.

why would we stop ppl from being who they are? a screen name is a screen name, not a way for ppl to make money.

this is not allowed and if someone is found with more than 1 user name i will personally ban at least one of them.

you really didnt have any points, just asking questions that common sense should have answered. these are all general internet forum answers, some forums may be slightly more strict than others, but even still, 90% of forums follow the same guidelines.

I can't read PMs.  When I say "can't" that doesn't mean I have tried and failed.  Even if I could read PMs, why would i snoop around?  Thats stalkerish :)

As the person who recently rewrote the code and went over ALL the MODIFICATIONS installed in our software, I CAN ASSURE YOU, that NO ONE can read your PMs.  I know which modifications allow for that kind of bullshit and I wanted to make sure that they were not installed in MY FORUM.  I take privacy very seriously and as of right now, NO ONE can add a modification without my knowledge.  I am the only person who has full access to the database and even then, I would need to datamine to read random PMs.  Would I do that?  No.  I have no reason, and it is NOT my business.  I'm not 12 years old so I don't care what you guys PM each other about.

You know John, I was hoping you wouldn't have to get involved and since I just started reading all this and see you posted last now I'm actually mad. As the owner of this site, which by the way is not only offered for free to members, but is a voluntary membership, YOU SHOULD NEVER HAVE TO ANSWER STUPID QUESTIONS OF THIS NATURE. That being said, I believe that kingpin, you should have contacted an Admin directly as it was pointed out by Aggdogg, maybe that way you would not have come off as antagonizing as you did. Please in the future look for answers or ask them directly to those that can help you with them, but do not start a thread in a "calling out" fashion thinking it will rally you support like as if you're running for office or something. Mind you my words may be a bit inciteful right now but it is due to you even insinuating that anyone on our staff would do such a thing, I would put my position here as Admin on the line for anyone of them since I know we have a great bunch of people working here FOR FREE on their own time.

I really don't care what is written in PMs just don't break our rules on the forum. I take things seriously when people try to go behind our authorized vendors which I would like to point out support our site. Sure we cannot force a member to go to a specific vendor but to deliberately ask for prices in the community. This is why we have vendors. If our VSC vendors cannot provide for them, post it up on the WTB section. Simple as that. As the site manager of the forum, I will do whatever it takes to protect our vendors. frankly ClutchOne I could care less what you do or don't do on other forums. What I do care about is what happens on this forum, especially when anyone is accusing anyone on staff or trying to elude to any possible wrong doing. my suggestion is if you don't like how things are run here... go moderate away at those other forums and be done with it. I will not tolerate anyone disrespecting staff members and you can pm me if you feel you believe you have anything left to say, just mind your manners or else.

Lets close this thread please.  I have already stated before that I will NOT or NEVER allow any of VSC's staff access to read ANYONE's PM.  I really have no reason to read anyone's PM?  I have a lot of faith in our community and a lot of people will come to us if they have anything wrong in their PMs.  I do not like the whole "big brother is watching" and will always refuse to allow any PMs to be read.  

If other forums do it, then so be it.  VSC will NEVER allow for it.  

Now don't go doing shit behind our backs ya hear?  lol jk.
