King of ride height
I have been very interested in this y33 for years since Dominik brought it to the forums attention. He is on coilovers which is crazy but what makes it even crazier is that his wheels are flush. Driving this low while flush is insane

This is an old video, he since chaged up his kit. My guess is he destroyed the old kit and used it as an excuse to change it up. He actually has a splitter under the front bumper now to make it slightly lower up front. Nuts

^ I really wish people would stop posting that. The enthusiast in Japan fubar aero/quarterpanels, etcs. all the time. That's one of the main reasons you see so many frequent changes to cars you've followed for a time. It all boils down to your commitment. POINT BLANK!!!
Love the car though.

x2. There are bad roads everywhere. Some worse then others but at that height just reversing up a driveway (because there is no way you can go forward up a driveway) while angling it slightly off can mess up your kit. You have to be truely committed

really nice car...
but really the props goes for ridin that low on coils....
but not so much on the flush.... seems flush, but pics show he tucks rim front and rear, which explains being able to manuver........still badass

I think the US idea of "flush" has gone beyond what the Japanese guys do over there. The whole 'fender splitting tyre and lip' idea is ridiculous IMO as it shows zero intention to ride that low. And the razor thin tolerance for flushness before getting a comment of "needs spacers" on here is more of a drifter attitude than vip.
(the drift scene are the ones who took the idea of flushness and kept going until the wheels are pretty much poked outside of mangled cellulite style fenders)
While having good fitment is important, suspension height is more important to the vip guys in Japan right now. I've sat here biting my tongue every time i see someone say "needs spacers" to cars that are perfectly fine. We should be more concerned with ride height, like this guy Toshi in the Gold Y33 above

now i know i am not super ganster low to some, but for daily driving on coils this is about as low as i can go in the front as when i turn full lock the car raises cuz it rubs against my tire.
really it comes down to determination and how bad do you want it to be low!

not bad are you running 19s? I been trying to figure out the same issue was thinking of cambering it a bit and cutting the front fender to be able to go lower cause the rear can just tuck.

Couldnt have said it better! Dominik nailed it. Lowness riding shouldnt be sacrificed by needing 10mm more aggreesive rims.

This has always been my beef with AIR-equipped VIP cars: most guys don't DRIVE the cars low, they only park them low. I'm on coilovers, and while I'm not the lowest guy in the world, my ride height is lower than many of the AIR guys I encounter.
The thing I like about coilovers is: I ALWAYS know that the car looks good! Also, I hammer the snot out of the car on occasion, and I like how the car handles with coilovers with good shock valving and big sway bars.
Then again, my GS is not VIP. At least not in the traditional definition.

Those are excellent points. Lots of people who rag on dumped people for not having absolute flushness haven't actually tried driving a car that was flush AND low, without mangled drifter fenders. It's not as easy as it sounds.
Mega props to the few who manage to pull it off on coils 'cuz it's no cakewalk.

That's so true. My buddy, you probably seen him cos you're in the OC, has a dark blue G37 coupe. Before he went with bags he was low, but now he drives an inch higher almost. When I go bags, I'm keeping it at the same ride height as I have with coils, maybe even a little lower.
