Hi from Calgary

Just to intorduce myself......the name's Mark and I'm a Brit now living in Calgary.

Got a '95 Y33 Gloria and a '97 Skyline R33 GTR back in the UK.
I brought the Gloria across from Japan as I needed a sedan (so the wife told me anyway) but wanted something different. It had some fairly serious archwork to fit the rims in (18x10.5" fr, 18x12" rr Kranze Cerberus) and really needs some air suspension on it to look right. Always loved the VIP scene over in Japan and this car got me even more hooked.....almost to the point of giving up my long time affair with Skylines.
However, things have moved on and I'll sell the Gloria soon (hopefully) and maybe try and sneak the Skyline over here under the 'visitor' regulations.

For the new project, I've just bought myself (two weeks ago) a Black on Black '04 Infiniti G35x sedan over hrere and although it's not the typical subject of the VIP treatment, I've decided to go down that road anyway. Ordered some 20" Trafficstar RTS' and am looking at the air suspension now. Winter is just around the corner now so I've got some time to get things together for next year.

Anway, enough of my cr@p. Great site you guys have here and no doubt you'll be putting up with stupid questions from me soon.

Cheers,
Mark

Re: Hi from Calgary

A couple of pics....the Y33, then the Skyline and Infiniti.
The G35 needs some serious detailing but it WILL get there eventually :)

Re: Hi from Calgary

nice Gloria!   Did you say you brought it into Canada and have it currently insured?    Was this due to the "one car you bring from another country that you have lived in" rule?

No, the Gloria and the Skyline are still in the UK. If I do bring one of them over it'll likely be the Skyline.....mainly because of the $$$$$, blood sweat and tears that have gone into it. The Gloria on the other hand is exactly as I got it from Japan. Plus it's stupidly bad in the winter weather on standard tires (I tried it in the snow twice......sideways progress rather than forwards ;D ) and I hate to think what it would look like with some skinny winter tires/wheels on :uglystupid2:
At least the G35x CAN be given the VIP-style look but I can throw some winter tyres on the standard rims and keep using it.

If I get bored of the Infiniti, I could always look at bringing a '91/'92 Nissan President or something over here under the 15 year rule ;)
