What wheels for a GTI

So my air suspension is on it's way, now it's time to search for wheels that work well with the car. I know I don't want to go with 19s, and 16s are way too small. That leaves 18s and 17s. Ideally I'd want to do MAEs with stepped lip in 18x8.5 +35 and 18x9.5+45...but so far I've only found these with regular flat lip.

What do you guys think of these:
1) Zaubers 18"

2) Blitz 18"

3) Volk 18", super light, but kind of ugly.

4) Work 17"

Going on this thing:

Also considering getting centers of whatever wheels I get painted. Also I am not rulling out BBS Impuls.

#1 and there is something that gets me about #4. Blitz are strait too. I agree, I'd steer away from those Volks. Other Volks would get my vote 8 days out the week, but not those ones. Any of those 3 will be way clean and really set your ride off.

Either 1 or 4. I was never a fan of any of the Blitz Technospeed wheels, and those Volks are funky looking.

How do you plan on running your setup?

hellaflush or tucked?

If tucked i'd say go with the Zaubers & if you were to go for a poke/flushness , then the works but i think those would look good in chrome.

thats my 2.

Well it all depends on what size I get. I will be able to tuck 18s easily in the back, and up front there may be a little tire showing...but most likely my rim will be even with the fender. If that's the case, then I want them to be flush or close to that.
!7's...I'd more than likely want them to poke.

Here are few examples:
17s...

18s...

Now here are the MAEs with stepped lip...really want those in 18s!

that white one looks really good.

Ah shit! all this VW talk makes me so stoked. I'm looking to get my first car in 3-4 months, looking at Mk4 Golfs/GTI's

OZ Futuras are nice. Anything Multi Piece is good I think the Blitz or the Zauber would fit nicely

zaubers are very nice, but so common on vw's IMPO. and i definitely say 17's.
but in all reality they are all nice, its all down to fitment, which you have plenty of examples of wheel fitments, so youre good to go.
