Just an idea

Im new to the whole VIP/VIP style thing. I had a coworker turn me on to it. I dont own any car that would really fit the idea of a start for VIP style but i do have a Crown Vic. I know i will make a few people upset but i do feel it could look good.

unless you are going to cut your rear solid axle into a few pieces, nowhere close.

now, that isnt to say you cant make it dope as hell. i love me a slammed crown vic on 20s

Sorry....what's the question again?  I read and I read and I am not sure what kind of replies you are expecting from us...?

build your ride the way you want.. you can't really get solid answers before building anything, and you'll be mostly faced with negativity. most people here won't have much good to say about a Crown Vic VIP build because they never really thought about it and wouldn't do it. If you think it'll work, draw influences from the VIP scene, but don't just imitate it. 

IMO big wheels and spot-on fitment looks good on any car, but when you start putting curtains, lighted tables and especially Fusas and other JDM VIP-exclusive stuff into a non "vip" car it gets hokey and looks like a try hard move.

Build something nice and you'll get good feedback. Even if you build something no one here can dig, maybe you're still happy with it, you're just trying to fit in with the wrong crowd.

Im really just looking for feed back on the idea of applying VIP style to a Crown victoria. I appreciate the advise. I havent found alot of variety for body kits and no really tastefull ones

Is that an Interceptor?  It looks like one.

pout some sweet rims on it.....and slam it and most cars in this world will be nice.....a lot of poeple get caught up on "is it VIP or Vip styled " like some of the others said earlier build your car the way you like it.....there are some really nice non tradtional VIP "Styled cars on this site and it comes down to is it put together nicely.....i say go for it....there are some rims for sale on this site ...

Large black sedan = sexy.

Don't worry about VIP this or VIP that. Have fun with building a car that people will enjoy being in/looking at...but more importantly a car YOU will enjoy being/looking at. 

Crown Vics are amazing vehicles, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. 

Whether it's a blue oval, a crooked L, a Mt. Fuji, a 3 point star, or a jungle cat on your hood (looking at you El Pres:biggthumpup:) etc...as long as you love your car heart and soul, then it'll satisfy you every time. Personally I get sick of seeing the same 4 cars...Lexus LS, Lexus GS, Infiniti Q, and Infiniti M on the site. I know they are THE platform cars, but I get bored going through tons of pictures with the same models in them.

First off (as stated) you shouldn't be concerned bout what others like/dislike and speaking for the forum, "we do not hate on different platforms!" So you can omit Leg-o-lands response (16 posts plez).  We just hate on shotty work. Grant was just commenting on some possible challenges you'll be faced with using this platform, but there's always a way. Ultimatly if your asking us what we think of your idea to proceed, then in turn we should ask you if you think it can be done?

16 posts but 2.5 years on the site.. I like to look & read. I don't have a 'platform' car so I don't post much of what I get up to here.

You're right though, most people do seem supportive and that's great - it hasn't always been like that though, I've seen different in threads in the past.

Apart from that 1 part of my post which I'll gladly admit i seem to have been wrong about because more acceptance is always good, I've basically said the same thing as everyone else - build what you want, do it clean & enjoy it.

The first time I had the opportunity to ride in the back of one of those cars I was amazed at how comfy riding in the back was. no. am a good boy..was doing a ride along with California highway patrol, those fuckas can drive...

Thanks for the support guys. I was unsure how the car would go over. I really like the look of vip style. Its just an LX no interceptor but i wanted the nice interior.

+1 on that idea! There was a pic of a white lincoln town car i think from HI. That was on some leons or big faced works that might be an inspiration for you. Those cars have a lot of room in the fenders allthough the rear does not camber.. I suggest aggressive fitment, murdered out with mucury marauder headlights bagged

I like the whole marauder headlights but it requires swapping the bulkhead :(

I got a 2005 P71 they run pretty good black on black i call it the get out of my way car because people do move out the way on the highway !! put yeah what was your questioon????

First step is air suspension.  You can bag any car out there. Universal air suspension may have an application for your car.  If not, you can just get a bag/strut welded up for your car.  Once you got your car nice and low, take a ruler and messure the wheel gap down to the mm.  Write that down.  Take off your wheel and read the specs (width and offset).  From there, if you are not great in math, use an online wheel offset calculator that will give you an idea on what size wheels you can run.
 
Nice fitting wheels that are flush or almost flush on a slammed crown vic would look sick.  From there, you can just sit back and learn to see what others are doing and get inspired to come up with new ideas for your ride.
 
  Although it is not a platform car, it is a big body sedan.  It is just really missing the luxury part.  Most non platform cars get looked down upon because they are either too small, don't have 4 doors and/or are not luxury cars.

Solid axle is going to prevent camber which means you'll need to measure accurately for fitment, and rely on fender modification and tire sizes. However, Crown Vics can take really low offsets to start with, so you can have badass looking wheels without much hassle.

People bag or juice Crown Vics a lot so getting low should be a piece of cake. The rest is up to you, just keep it clean!
