Wheel offset

Hello, I have  a 2002 Honda Odssey and the plans is to put 20" shoes on it. I plan on doin a coilover set, because air ride wouldn't be practical for me on this build. My question is,1)will  20x8.5"(front) & 20x10"(rear) work on this van & 2) what offset would I need for the proper VIP look.     HELP!!!  student of VIP scene:saiyancrunks:

Seriously..why are you asking this?  There's no magical numbers.  You need to start thinking about what look you want, then you think about how to achieve it..or do like many of us and MAKE it work/fit.  To many of us, it's a cop-out to just use what ____ is using on theirs.

Bolt a large sheet of piece of manila paper to your hub. Measure the distance from the paper to your nearest inner interference, and measure from the paper to where you want it to sit at the fender.

Boom, done.

[B][I]OK..Thanks for the comment, but to answer your question, I asked  about wheel offsets and etc because IM NOT A WHEEL EXPERT. I also am a firm believer that there is no dumb questions,just ones your to scared to ask. So..I know the look I want and I know there are some type of measurements,camber,caster,etc to achieve that,but I do know where your comin from.[/I][/B]

I would do 20x9 all around. The front offset has to be around positive 5-20 and the rear offset negative 15-30. That way you can use a 215/35/20 tire all around.

Why the hell would he go through the trouble of doing all the research 'just like everybody else'? Isn't this a place to share information and experience so the next guy doesn't have to do all the work all over again?

why is it so hard? Because people dont take the time to learn the things the NEED to learn to build cars. If you tell him an offset and a size, and he goes and buys it, and it doesnt fit how HE wants it to, he will not be happy with it. This is a place to encourage people to learn on their own and THEN when they reach a rock, to help them. Not to just spit out numbers

its all so personal to your taste, your country, if you daily the car, what you think about tyre costs, how much tyres cost you, what you think about this that and the other.
 
you rarely nail fitment in 1 set of wheels. just need to accept that, get it as good as you can and figure that no doubt you will probalby want to step it up next set..
