91 LS Tune up?
Its time to get a tune-up on my car. I was thinking about replacing the spark plug wires with Ngk wires and the plugs with Ngk iridium ones. But my mechanic says that i shouldn't just get the iridium plugs that the stock platinum ones are good enough and that i wouldn't see that much of a performance gain and to save money. What do you guys think?

id stick with stock spec imo, im more interested in them lasting forever like my stock ones (190k) than a small performance increase

It sucks that there isn't much performance upgrades for the 1st gen LS, so you gotta squeeze out as much performance as possible.

I agree with your mechanic, I have seen performance plugs where they have such low resistance, i have seen spark jump from a wire that was suspose to spark and give partial feed to a different run = rough motor.
