Falken 452 size recommendation

I am looking to buy tires. My options are hankook, falken 452s and possible dunlop tires. My wheels are 9 inches up front and 10s in the rear. I was looking to run 225 and 235 to get a little nice stretch with hankooks or dunlops since they seem to run true. The Falken 452s run large, so does this mean to achieve the same look as the 225 and 235 35 19 I would have to run 215 and 225 35 19?

I think I got it right but I need some clarification from you tire *****s :) also is that the case for ANY tire that runs LARGE, the fact that I would have to run a smaller width tire from a true or small sized tire to achieve the same look (i.e. instead of a 245 on a small/ true tire run a 235 on a large)?

just be carefuly with stretchin falkens.... they bubble a lot!!!!

what do u mean by bubble? I never stretched tires before so can u please explain. Also this car will be driven probably less than 1-2,000 miles a year.

just remember too keep enough air in the tires. and you shouldnt really have a bubbling problem, thats from my own experience.

^ tricky advice. I always put the right amount of air in my tires, not less not more so if thats the case how would the amount of air in the tires change unless there was air leak? do stretched tires leak air?

stretch tires need more psi to keep the beads seated.
like 50 or 60

i run 45psi all around. and the one time my tire bubbled, that tire  happened to have 34 psi . just a side note for future reference for you.

235 rear
for a good stretch

isnt 235 big for a "large" tire? or is 235 on a 10" wheel fine even with large tire.

Just buy some Nankangs , Alot of the guys are stretching them with no problems and you save about a hundred dollars :biggthumpup:

I run 245 on my 10.5's no probs. U can get some cheap nankangs in 20s. As far as 19 goes, falken won't b more expensive.

I keep thinking about nankangs but these tires are for a show car that will be driven less than 2K miles a year probably so I m thinking I might just pay the extra hundred for wheels that will literally last like 5+ years. I don't want to do a show and they look at me like how the fuck u spend 4K on custom DPE wheels and buy some cheap tires but I might do that until I can get another sponsor. I actually got sponsored by dunlop. I got dunlop sport maxx in 225 and 235 35 19 and 2 weeks after I got them FOR FREE, the only thing I ever got sponsored for, someone, somehow stold the tires out of my garage (I might have left it open in my apt complex) that shit hurts me everytime I think about it :( them shits cost over 800

anyways I might end up going nankangs but it all depends how I feel. For nankagns since they run small I would do 225 and 235 thats good size to run on 9s and 10s right?

Yeah my 452's have about five tumors in the inner sidewall running 245/30/20 on a 9.5 they just weren't made to strecth on heavy cars

Wow I've never had a problem with my 235/245/35 fk452s! on my LS400 on terrible Vegas streets... I usually run 40psi in them. 9.5 and 10.5 wheels.

As for your question, I have 215/225/35s on my 9s/10s on my s14 and they fit/look great. Although they are cheap federals not falkens.

ive never had 1 single bubble.  but i drive super low and the tires had never lasted that long anyway.

bubbles? IMO any thin, stretched tire, on a slammed and cambered car with rough suspension will bubble.  and it so happens MOST people run falkens, thats why u hear bubble problems more often with them

well I ended up going with Dunlop sportmaxx tires. I found a guy on craigsist selling them in the sizes I needed. I ll have pics probably tomorrow

were, I was thinking of ditching the custom car but I was going to loose way too much money selling both, no one wanted to pay the right price for the wheels but at the same time in that time I was trying to sell them I kept saving and got enough money to paint the car this is going on.
