New to VIP..need advice. looking for a project sedan

Hey guys I just joined the forums last week and i like what i see. Props to all the sick cars ive seen on here. I currently own a 350z (dumped n flushed):runcoold: and im looking to trade it in or sell it and get a vip style sedan. Been looking at lexus gs, is, but they may be out of my budget right now (20k because i wanna mod the new ride). Any advice? I know there is a camry here and there but its not enough to convince me lol:pat:
anyways any advice would help guys! i'd appreciate it!

for now i can only dream of an is-f or 09 ls:sad:

Are you talking about looking at a new model GS or IS (not a trad. platform) or the Camry; but you did just say you were looking for a sedan?

They are out of your price range, yet you own a 350Z "dumped and flush?" <---pics BTW

Good Luck though.

You can pick up a mid to late 90's LS (platform) for a steal, if your tight on the funds. Also the engines are really reliable and parts availability shouldn't be a problem. Welcome and G/L!

All depends on how much $$$ and what you want to do .. LS >GS lots of options, thus making its a bit cheaper to MOD some what

M & Q 02 and up .. forget it on the suspension and parts you will not find every day or all order are SPECIAL ORDER , but you will be set apart from the rest if done properly ( NO KNOCK OFFS PLEASE LOL )

if i had to get another car, i might have gotten an LS ..2004 +

food for thought ...

good luck in your search

Y33 Cimas are cheap. Second-gen GS' are a steal as well. I have yet to see a third-gen GS that looks good.

agreed. i kinda like the 3rd gen gs but havent seen one i fell in love with. some big car site like edmunds or something said that the 05 or 06 gs300 is the best used car under 20k u can buy.

also 94-2000 ls400s can sometimes get scooped up for good prices.
the interior and exterior quality is A+ but my 2 really good friends that have those ucf20's have had a lot of transmission problems and coolant/oil/gas leakage. both are between 100-150k miles. i hear nothing but the best from that 1uz motor though. then again my 03 q45 has 50k and i had a minor coolant leak that was a major problem that ended up being a top half engine job that cost 1200 with a hooked up price.

Modding a 2nd generation GS is the cheapest you can get. On club lexus at any point in time you can find 5 sets of used coilovers under $700, you have 1,000,000 choices for kits and and grills and tails all of which are ridiculously cheap. Maintenance is oil changes. Can't go wrong with that.

so true..

Y33 are good cars
2GS are great cars too. plus they got that supra motor and all it takes is a swap and you got a few hundred HP.

3GS are sick from the factory. but can be done really good.

BTW nice Z.
