Ksport Airtech or UAS

Which one would you guys recommend?

I am a noob who is interested in air suspension.

I already have Megan LP coilover which I was told that I can use with the UAS.

But if I buy the Ksport Airtech, everything is already assembled and ready to install.

If I am getting the UAS, I am buying it from PGmotoring and it includes:

2 VIAIR 380C, 200 PSI, 100% DUTY CYCLE
1 200 PSI PRESSURE SWITCH
1 CHROME SWITCH BOX (Hand Held 7 Switch)
8 "Blow Proof" 1/2" AIR SOLENOID VALVE
4 UNIVERSAL AIR SUSPENSION AERO SPORT 9"
1 D.O.T. APPROVED FITTING & HOSES FOR F.B.S.S
1 Chrome Aluminum 4 Gal Tank
1 SET OF BRACKET KIT DESIGNED FOR YOUR CAR
1 HEAVY DUTY SOLENOID
1 BOLT PACK
US PATENT US 6457702

Is there any additional stuff I have to purchase in order to fit/use with the Megan Coilovers??

Please give me advice.

Thank you :)

I've seen the Ksport in action, they look like they work well. Dont know how they would hold up after a year or so though.

If going with UAS I would change up some of the components you are looking to purchase.

2 VIAIR 380C, 200 PSI, 100% DUTY CYCLE
1 200 PSI ON 165 OFF PRESSURE SWITCH
1 CHROME SWITCH BOX (Hand Held 7 Switch)
Use a Manifold such as the one I am using or the Accuair
4 UNIVERSAL AIR SUSPENSION AERO SPORT 9"
1 D.O.T. APPROVED FITTING
3/8" hoses
1 Chrome Aluminum 4 Gal Tank
1 SET OF BRACKET KIT DESIGNED FOR YOUR CAR
1 HEAVY DUTY SOLENOID
1 BOLT PACK
US PATENT US 6457702

Here is a pic of the manifold that I am using in my GS

Utilizing a manifold simplifies the installation. It takes up less space and allows connections to be made easier IMHO.

I said to use 3/8" lines because the 1/2" are way too fast!!! I am using 3/8" and my car goes up instantly.

You should also consider some kind of gauge setup to tell you how much pressure you are running. Dakota Digital is one of the most popular choices.

^Thanks alot, I will of course invest in a digital gauge such as the Dakota Digital.

As for the manifold, how much will the upgrade cost??

Is there anything else I need to know for the UAS to fit/work with the Megan Coilover?

It shouldnt break the bank it should be about $100 difference between going valves or a manifold.

I will keep my head out of this discussion except to say that I would agree with Spyder and choose to run a manifold over valves any day of the week.

I like my 1/4 inch line speed in the rears, fronts could use 3/8's but i don't mind really.

Any1 care to elaborate more on this or any pictures will be greatly appreciated.

To Spyder...

What do you mean how they would hold up? They both use the same bags but uses different mounts. KSports uses billet metal and UAS uses cast galvanized metal. Wear and tear will depends on how much you play with your system.

Sorry bro i have U.A.S & i love it the only thing is it does'nt come with dampers so either your gonna have to use your factory dampers or buy aftermarket shock or coilovers.

Ksport is all inclusive & they use UAS bags....people have good & bad things to say about they're coilovers by themselves so sine they both use UAS bags you just have to decide if you want Ksport coilovers or something different like meagan, tein, jic & so on....google Ksport coilovers & read up on the reviews & then compare them to whatever coilover or damper your gonna use if you choose UAS.

I think Megan and Ksport are probably at the same level in terms of reliability. LOL

Ksport does not to utilize UAS bags to my knowledge. Ksport uses a Sleeve type bag similar to airrunner whereas UAS makes a bellows style.

When I say how they would hold I am referring to daily usage as well as climate and road conditions. I live in NYC, the roads, climate puts an insane amount to stress on any car. As far as I know no one has utilized the Ksports for anywhere close the to the amount of miles that UAS have been put through. I never wanted to be the guinea pig for a $2000 suspension. I went with something that I know works and a company that has a reputation based on standing behind their product.

20sburning;272535 wrote:Have you ever tried single valves? I am just asking

Yes I have. What are you getting at? I've also tried 3/8 line with single valves, 1/2 line with single, the accuair VU4, the AirRunner Manifold, and the Asco manifold that I pictured. As far as ease, simplicity, and space usage in my opinion nothing beats a manifold.

to my knowledge Ksports bags are manufactured by UAS so they technically don't use UAS bags they just make them for ksport.if i'm wrong then i stand corrected.also ksport uses both bellows & sleeve type bags depending on the application or need.

Here's a pic showing the use of both bellows & sleeve type bags.

Tommie actually answered the KSport/UAS question spot on. And no, Airforce does not make the KSport setups, neither does D2.

The bags used are made by UAS, all other components are from KSport. So Spyder, hate to burst your bubble, but the testing is there, the only thing left is to comment on the coilover itself and mounting parts of this equation. When going with the Megans or whatever other coilover set up, you have to rig a way to mount the UAS bags on the struts, with the KSport set up, they were made for it, no worries about fit and finish, they were designed to be used that way, no warranty issues. The struts themselves come with 18 month warranties, so I don't see any issues with thinking about running them if you are going to be backed by their support/warranty team.

And Tommie, the pic that you have posted is the kit for the 2GS, except the new kits ship with the new and improved black strut caps (instead of orange or silver).

Don't want to beat a dead topic anymore, nor do I want to get banned since my secret is out, so I'll remove myself from this thread now.

Just to clear a few things up here. No, we do not manufacture the air bags for K-sport. Yes, we do business with KSport and personally I have been in talks with them for a while about using our Aero sport bag with thier coilovers but, we have not done any business with the Aero sport bag.

Yes, we have sell K-Sport air bags, They have purchased some of our air house 1 bag which is designed to be used in the rear suspension of the 300/Magnum/Charger suspension. But, they don't use any bag from us for a strut.

Now, i can see why it would be easy to get confused because there is alot of customers that are using our bags over the regular k-sport coilovers and now k-sport is selling thier own version of air suspension.

The biggest difference you will find with our aero sport bag vs. any other air suspension companies setup is that we run an inner chamber inside our bag. We are the only air bag manufacture that does run the inner chamber and we actually own the patent on that design. Every other company out there is sealing a bag onto a strut with some type of o-ring, lip seal or the combination of all the above.

I will not put anyone else's product or design down, They have engineered and built thier product the way that they have choosen to. No matter what type of suspension you have, coil springs, air springs, leaf springs etc, your dampers (shocks) are a normal wear and tear item. With our system your able to change out the damper to any one that is available for your vehicle that you would like assuming that it will fit through the bag (2.14 or smaller on the outside diameter which most are).

Not to mention the fact that yes, we do run the exact same bag in over 400 different vehicles. So what this does mean is that we are able to keep our production costs way down in the sense that we make one part... not many different ones for different vehicles. Not to mention the fact that if we want to do a new application, we basically just build the brackets for that vehicle if they require special brackets and its done. We don't build specific dampers and then seal the bags onto them to make a new application. That is the main reason why our system is alot more affordable compaired to other companies out there.

Before i get started. I am not here to sell anything. I am not a supporting vendor, however there is supporting venders on here that does carry our products along with offering a discount to the forum members. I am just here to clear a few things up, along explain our reasoning.

Yes, we have thought about offering our systems with a coilover company and make some "pretty" brackets to put them onto a coilover and offer it as a complete unit. There is a few reasons why we havn't offered it this way. Biggest being that we are not able to regulate the quality of the many different coilover companies out there, and we do not want to get a bad name if there is an issue with the coilover. Also everyone out there has thier own feelings on the different brands. so, to make a long story short, we decided it would be ideal to offer the the bags with the customers choice of shock. but, you are able to buy our full system (2300 our online retail price for a full FBSS Setup, 1/2" line/fittings/valves, chromed alum tank, electric valves/switches etc.) and reuse thier factory struts ($0), purchase a set of factory replacement (say KYB's for around $300 or so), purchase a set of aftermarket adjustable struts (say koni's at around $700 or so) or purchase a set of coilovers (1200-5000 depending on brand). So, a customer is able to have alot lower cost system with still keeping the higher end suspension components. Then, when your dampers wear out, our you want to upgrade, then you can change out the dampers and not be out any money from the suspension components.

Yes, our system is a little "harder" to install then a full strut unit when you using your OE struts. If your going with coilovers, most of them will just bolt right in with out any modifications to the strut. (except IS/GS/SC on double tapped coilover). However. If your purchasing our full kit 2300, install on a set of kyb's, and pay to have it installed usually out the door for around the 4k mark. But, that is for the full "upgraded" system with the FBSS, 2 comps, alum tank, 1/2" etc. Or, if the customer wants, purchase the system and install it in his driveway, it will be a lot lower of a cost.

There is a few reasons why we havn't offered it this way. like i said BALLER (which means rich) setup. never said it was better than anything else. i agree with all of the jdm air ride kits are over priced. i have silkroad coilovers and uas setup for the rest. i like it and it didnt break my bank when i did it (because i already had coilovers).

Thank you Zack very much for coming into this thread to correct what is seeming to become a common misconception. I love my UAS setup and that is why I stand behind it, due to my own personal use as well as doing a few other setups utilizing UAS. UAS is a company that stands behind their product and goes out of their way to make sure that they help you with any issues you may ever encounter.
