All about the paper

Ok, so I drive an Audi right, its nice and all, but modifying it costs a lot of money. I currently hold a Lube Tech position at the local Audi/Toyota dealership, and well, I cant even hardly pay the bills with the low income from here. Seeing all the highly modified cars on this website just makes me wish I could make my S4 even half of what you guys can pull off. Saving money dosent even help me any because in like 3 months I have just enough to tint my windows....o boy....

So my question to you, or anyone who reads this, what kind of jobs could a guy, still in college in Springfield IL, take up to VIP the Audi?? I have tried just about everywhere but fast food places but run across the all-to-familiar, got to kow someone on the inside to get a position.

Right now finding a job is tough. Pizza delivary in a busy area will make you some good money and the best part is you get paid every day and its cash. Consierge in a building will get you a lot of tips plus a few g's christmas bonus if it is a big building. You could also do tech support.

You could always sign your life away for four or more years and earn pretty good money, that's what I'm doing. Couldn't find a job either. Filled out 60 plus applications, nothing. So I am enlisting.

my suggestion is to look for a job related to the field you're studying and offer up your services at a pretty decent "pre-graduate" salary. it will start you off with the eperience portion and get you some ok cash!

Donate plasma. If you don't have a problem with needles that is a really good way to get some extra cash. It's a few times a week but you could bring in some CASH.

Yea...doing that and it isn't working out. I'm going to school for my degree in Automotive Technology, with a FORD Maint. and Light Repair cert and ASE certs. Best job I have gotten is the one I have, a lube tech at the Toyota dealership. $9 an hour with crappy management and a horrible store manager definatly is not worth it. I can hardly make my car payments, let alone get anything nice for my car. Worked at Discount Tire, Green Toyota, shit-WalMart Tire Lube.

Now im looking for something outside the auto field, im tired of OEM crap thats the same everyday. Im a tuner deep down inside, I like big turbo monsters, but only on the weekends. I like to rock luxury every other day.

Just wait.

Keep your job, assuming you've been there for a while, and aren't worried about being laid off. It's hard enough to find a job, and you already have a stable one.

Your mistake was downing a car and now are making payments on it. Trust me, it's not a good thing to do. Chalk this up as a lesson learned to just pay cash for cars/everything.

I would say, if you can find something on the side, say, doing maintenance work for people at your house and what not, you can make some extra money. OR, just wait. Pay off your car as quickly as you can, and then start fixing up your car the way you want. By then, you'll probably have a better job as well, and it just snowballs into a better car, faster.

Or you can say like my bro said, and say F the degree, and go join the military and fix stuff.

YokotaS13 is in japan, in the AF as a mechanic. He has built a few awesome cars, and he doesn't pay a middle man mark up for parts lol. There are options to you, you just have to be willing to make some sacrifices.

Sell a kidney to someone in the Middle East. I heard it's worth a lot in the black market. You could also look into having your girlfriend sell her eggs. IIRC, she can make some bread.

I've been there for about 6 months...but stability is definatly not there! Unfortunatly -seriously- if the manager is in a bad mood, he will just walk around and say your fired to people for no reason. We go through employees faster than I can count.

Ive thought about Army, but they cant take me for much because I have a cateract in one of my eyes. Aaand I needed the car because I had a broke a$$ 95 Civic that cost more to maintain than the parts I put into it.
