How To: The Dull/Faded Headlight Fix!

Simple way to keep those headlights bling'n!!

Suplies needed...

Terry Cloth Towels - (yes I know I did not use one)
Metal Polish - I used "Bluemagic" 
Wax - I used Zymol

Step 1:
Clean the headlights with a bug/tar remover [b](and or)[/b] water and soap

Step 2:
Apply metal polish in a circular motion to head lights using terry cloth towel. The more dingy and yellow your lights are, the more polishing you need to do!

Step 3:
Using a clean terry cloth towel wipe away the metal polish. When you think they are clean use a new towel and go over the lights one more time, there may be just a little left ;)

Step 4:
Apply any car wax to the headlights. This seems to keep the yellowness away for a longer period.

Step 5: 
Wipe away wax and your done

the metal polish works great..... I used to use it.

Meguiars power ball works great too.

sorry..can u take the "after picture" same angle with no lights on( i can see the yellow/orangy lights on when pics were taken), with flash too

I usually wet sand, then follow-up with 3M Perfect-it Polish, then some Zaino. That looks good, especially for only hitting it with metal polish.

Sweet, I did mine with 3M Perfect-It ll rubbing compound, followed by 3M Perfect-It swirl mark remover (both applied with a polisher), then hand applied 3M finishing glaze.
I only did one side out of boredom (had it out for repairs) but it worked very well.

I'll post pics of my results too, when I get the rest done.

I have little scratches and i've also read to wet sand with 2 different grits and use rubbing compound and then polish.

What grit sand paper did you use?

I use Meguiars PlastX with a DA buffer, great results...

You guys should seriously try Polycarbonate Polish (Motorcycle Face Shield Polish) Its made by 3M and does wonders on headlights, taillights, windshields, and foglights.  Its the best.  Just make sure you strip them headlight with alcohol before you do that.  Then apply a thin coat of ZooT sealer.  It seals the outside of the headlight and it looks spanktastic!
