Obama Wins Nobel Peace Prize 2009~!

Obama won the NOBEL PEACE PRIZE for 2009. The closing of the votes was TWO Weeks after he was sworn into office. HE DID NOTHING back then and he is yet to do anything now....BULLSHIT!

His greatest accomplishment thus far imo is being the first black prez. What is he winning it for?

Probably to something about the last president that makes this one seem so good, well at least it does to all the other countries in the world....

Why do people care?   Please tell me 10 others (without looking it up) who have won it in the 100+ years.   This award is honestly really insignificant in the grand scale.   Are we really fighting over a peace prize from the man who invented dynamite (which led to his little brothers death)?   The only reason he made the prize was so he didnt look like a killer in his next obituary (first one came out while he was alive).  I guess it doesnt really matter to me who wins.   Look who else has: Anwar Sadat.  UN.   Kissinger.  Why don't we complain about them winning it?   I guess it just frustrates me that people seem to care now when it is a person they dont like, and not realizing them that this "award" holds no weight.

 I would never try and take away an accomplishment  from someone that I had no chance in hell of winning myself...
 
It's due to him trying to open dialog and not just creating more problems for us. The hate for America is breeding more terrrorist faster than we can kill em :pat: LoL!!  We needed to add this aspect along side our physical fighting efforts. 
 
The last few years has been the lowest outside approval rating in American history...we simply cant keep living like that.

I am pro obama, but this award is a sham. I am not trying to spur with you, more echo my sentiments on this. Keyword is, he is trying.

His tenure as president has proven that he wants to change what the world thinks of america.......great, woop di doo. I am all for that.


This award would have held more water had they reserved it after his 1st term after we see the yields of the fruits of his labor.

It does no good for the cause of "change".

This is the point so many of you are missing.  It's not the USA peace prize.  I've heard from so many friends from other countries how happy they were about him taking office and for the hope of a better America PERIOD.  We've been looking like the biggest prick nation in the world for too long.  I think many people in the US can't think outside their own backyard.  

I too was surprised..but they don't seem to make these decisions lightly..seriously.  Why can't you just be happy for the guy??  Get over yourselves...

I always look at things like the Nobel Peace Prize like this....name the last 10 people that have won it. Name the last 10 people that have won the Heisman trophy. Name the last 10 people that have won the Pulitzer prize. Without looking it up, most of us can't recall that information. Now name the last 10 people who've made you smile, cheered you up during a shitty day, helped you with your CAR. etc...pretty easy to name those people right?

 That's what we should be focused on...awards and trophies and garbage don't really matter, it's our friends and family that make a profound effect and leave a lasting impression on our lives. I know that's a pus*y way to look at it, but hey...that's my .02 :shrug:

this is nothing more than an overblown "little league trophy" that everyone gets win or lose situation. before you only received it due to your accomplishments, with this it now allows you to get one for "trying".
 
"making us look better around the world"? really? wow. i figured most still hated us for being us period, whether the president is black, white, or purple, these people hate us because they can't stand our religious beliefs. this isn't about how we throw our weight around or how we are expected to help out when something happens... it's about religious beliefs and certain people willing to die for theirs, and kill millions of innocent people in the process to make a point.

He deserved it.

Nothing destroys the significance of such a prestigious award like handing it over to someone that doesn't deserve it.  This is an award won by the likes of Mother Teresa and Martin Luther King....
