Q45 question
Guys I have some questions.
I'm a noobie to Q45's
Has anyone had problems with their Qs' like transmission or engine problems
I have an opportunity to buy the Axis Q
Any thoughts?

my 02 has about 155k miles- the starter is going out, i have another one but too lazy to put it on. also, they burn oil pretty heavily. whatever you do, do not clean the throttle body, it'll throw a code, found out the hard way. those were the problems the guys on Nico were talkinig about. I would suggest doing research on nicoclub. c o m. search 02 q45 or F50 and you should get some really useful info. good luck, its a great car if taken care of.

The F50 is a great car and the Axis Q is a great one. Saw it for sale a while ago of course after i bought mine. The engine and tranny has been great on mine. Only problems as mentioned above is the HID Balllast will go bad one or the other.Replacement cost varies based on what you can get a new ballast at.
One thing not mentioned is the stock struts will go bad around 60,000 mi. From what i remember the Axis Q is on stock struts with cut aftermarket springs. Springs no longer made for our model. Your cost of new struts is between 250-350 per strut. So be prepared to replace these. Other problems not mentioned are minor like front seat mount will rock and is slighty annoying but can deal with. The cars do burn oil all F50 q's and older m45's Y34's hae same problems. Just make sure you change and check the oil regularly.
This car with the kit is ready to go, try Freshalloy .c o m to see additional information that may not be posted on nico. Nico tends to be only stock info aftermarket or alterations are frowned apon.
Good luck with this I have follwed this car for years. There are other posts here of a similar looking QF50 with a kit with 22's and it look clean. Good luck.
