Hey guys
I have had my 1990 C-F spec Celsior for just almost 3 years now.
Was hard to find exactly the model I wanted but I got it at the right time and at a average price.

I took a video today to show what the camber does when I lift up and  down, I have 2 spd valves on 1/2" lines, The accuair controller uses the  1/2" lines but only allows 50% of air flow through, whereas I have  another controller which allows 100% of airflow through the 1/2" lines, I  used the "fast valves" controller for the video, I will have some other  videos up later on in the week.

When I first bought it, I got it cheap due to some scum tipping brake fluid all over the bonnet, many many many scuff marks around the entire car, and also alot of acid rain damage on the boot, roof, bonnet and windows (anyone know how to get rid of the stained acid rain drips on the windows?)
I did have aftermarket airbag suspension in it for a while compliments of Breece (MAHEM) but due to very dodgy wiring and workmanship, I ended up having to deal with severe airleaks, and spending $2000 more then his quoted price, so with a very dodgy airbag setup due to his work, I ended up biting the bullet and putting brand new airbags in which were $2500 imported from the USA, 18y.o airbag quality was shameful compared to the new Arnott industries airbags that were in it for 2 years. So after spending $4500 I ended back to where I started (Thanks Breece).
But no use on dwelling on the past. 

Now I know my car is not everyones taste, but thats fine :) Dont like it, dont comment, simple as that :)

I don'tnormally like RCR tails but I've found they suit the first gens best.
Its hard to tell from the pics but a small front spacer might round out the stance nicely as well.

LiCelsior - I would have only gone monotone if I put a kit on it, without the kit, I think the two-tone suits it much nicer in my opinion

Schnitz - If I put spacers in the front, I won't be able to go as low as when I drop the suspension, It sits on the front wheel arches and gives it a nice clean level look. With Spacers I won't be able to go as low and when I slam it, it won't look level. Am I making any sence? I think I am starting to confuse myself! haha.

Nothing a fender roll and pull won't take care of.

Nice ride!  Must be a JDM import?  

A smaller tire on the front like 215/35 would let you go lower so the tire isn't hitting the arch (front fender)

Yeah I eventually want to go 225's on front and 235's on the rear
I dont want to go too crazy as this car is driven alot and the roads around here are crazy enough to drive on, all 4 rims already have slight buckles in them, I dont want to make them worse.

AME_VIP - Yes, It is a import. I am the 2nd owner here in Australia, the first owner did not look after it so I am stuck with all the consequences from that.

Schnitz - Yeah but that involves spending more money on it, so maybe later on down the track, after just recently spending $11,000 on it, I am now not concerned about changing anything else on it, I want to save up for a deposit on a house now. So the car has been pushed down in the list of things to spend money on.

thebeeguy - Thanks mate, unfortunately this is how it will remain for quite some time as I am nearing a purchase of a block of land and a house so most of my funds will be going towards paying the land of, so the car has been knocked down a few on the list of things to spend money on. But I am extremely happy with how it is looking now - Wouldn't mind a set of HID's though.

jbo - Thanks for the post. Not much more planned for it at the time being, maybe a set of HID's, fix up the 3 dents in the body, but nothing really noticable. 
Maybe in a few years time I might consider giving it a full respray in all black and a re-trimmed interior, but we will see how things go.

My girlfriend is selling her car soon, and she will be taking ownership of my 2nd car, so I think this will become a even more frequently used car. Love your ride too by the way! Very Tidy!

LiCelsior - Thankyou for your posts, The front lip was removed and discarded when I had the respray done, it was warped, broken, cracked etc, it would have needed ALOT of work to be able to put it back on the car after the respray so we decided to throw it in the bin. I would like another one, the holes were left there just in case I found another one, but they are very hard to come by!
I seen a Celsior the other day and it had fog lights in the bottom part of the front bar with what looked like standard fog light mounts, looked nice and I would like to do something like that but I have never seen them before.

Good from far, but far from good, when I got it resprayed, the spray painter did not remove 2 dents in the body work, and I have got 3 in total now, scored another dent not that long ago in a carpark, so now I will have to get the dents removed.

Well I am about to spend another load of money on it, but this is nothing special.
Unfortunately it is due for the timing belt, so I am doing it the right way and replacing the water pump as well due to Celsiors being known for water pump failure.

Well a update of sorts...
Not sure what to do right about now, Yesterday I washed and gave my car a polish, and today I went to the gym, was contemplating taking my every-day ford because it looked like it could rain, but in the end I took my Celsior, a decision I wish I didnt do.
Anyway, got to the gym, (Same carpark where the photos on page 1 were taken) I parked it in the usual spot on the multi-story carpark which is 2nd story, up the back as there are about 40car parks and generally only 5 of them are taken, so I park away from all the other cars so I dont have to worry about people denting my doors etc.
I done a workout at the gym for 1 hour, went back to my car and put my gym bag in the boot (Trunk) and when I closed the boot lid, I noticed a dust print on the boot that looked like a shoe, I did not think anything of it.
When I got home and put the car in the garage, I got out, slammed the air suspension, and thats when I noticed more dust on the roof and bonnet.
A closer inspection shows foot prints..
In total, there were about 8 foot prints on the boot, roof and hood.
Fingerprints and the way the footprints walk indicate they got on the boot lid, and walked over the roof, down the windscreen and down the hood.
No dents, but the boot lid is full of scratches from when they climbed on, some MAY buff out, but I am almost 100% there will be a permanent reminder of what happened.
No pictures as of yet.
Police were called and took down a report, they are going to speak with the fingerprinting unit and see if they are willing to look for fingerprints but I doubt they will really care about doing it.
Not to mention that 1 week ago, some kids broke into my ford and stole about $100 worth of Ipod accessories from it, so all this in 1 week! Its just not a good start to 2010!

On a plus side, I got a table for the back seat, I will try and get some pics up one day soon.

Nah Silos, I spoke with the manager at the gym, they have security patrolling the area around the gym but there are no cameras unfortunately, looks like I will be out of pocket.
So basically these kids will get away with this unpunished. Its a shame they continue to do this kind of stuff, makes you wonder what their parents are doing!

few years ago i parked at a local spot where we used to play pool.was inside for a lil bit and people usually go for a smoke out side and yeah my car was out front...
well few of my mates decided to go and have a puff so i tagged along and i found some numbnut sitting on my bootlid...
well to sum up the story i pretty much dragged that guy to my mates panel shop and made him pay for the damages on the spot:)$500 for big fuck off dent from his fat ass and pretty bad scratches from him trying to climb on trunk...man i was angry:)
it was during the day by the way, thats how i noticed all the damage, if it was at night i prob wouldnt even know...

Yeah thats really bad, its extremely disrespectful! I am glad you managed to catch the guy in the act! At least there is one point up for the good guys, unfortunately I just got a call from the police and they are not willing to fingerprint my car, so looks like one point up for the bad guys in my situation.

how about insurance?
we had same situation with my dads merc few years ago.teen decided to casually walk over the car, except he jumped on bonnet.
insurance company payed for all the damages

When you say ride height is on point - Which picture are you referring to? As it is on air sus so there are different heights in the photos.

Just a small update, nothing big, pretty much all of my funds at the moment are going towards a deposit on a house, so thought what could I do for free, and I ended up cleaning up the engine bay a  bit by cleaning up all the plastics  in the engine bay 
Just gave them a good hose off, a spray with degreaser, and then some  black tyre shine stuff to give them a glossy look. 


The first picture is a picture I took when I first bought the car, only real big difference is the coolant reservoir is a new one that is much cleaner looking.

Well here is how my car sits right now, waiting for the steering wheel and gear shifter to come back from the auto-trimmers, glovebox is out as I am trying to line it up properly, with 2x1/2" airlines going behind the glovebox, it made it bulge out a bit, so tidying that up, The gauge cluster is removed as my tacho needle sat on zero when my car was on high idle, and at around -500 when on low idle, so that was taken out and is now sitting on zero when the car is turned off. The back seat is out because I need to access the parcel shelf to muck around with that, don't want to spill too many secrets just now..

Got these curtains from my mate, they were medium in size, but too big for the side window of his car or my car, so I thought I would do something really different and use them in the rear window, don't know what you guys think, but I am happy with how they look.

Well the curtains did not want to stay up for too long, anyone know any way of making plastic stick well to carpet?

craft glue sticks fabric to plastic? but you will need to find a way of propping it up to keep the bond until it sets. otherwise, maybe try mounting to the glass? ur fighting a battle against gravity tho....

With my steering wheel being faded and after being sick and tired of having it painted, I decided to bite the bullet and just get the damn thing re-trimmed, not many places around here wanted the job, so off it came, and to South Australia it went. I decided to get the shifter done as well due to the stitching coming apart, and alot of wear and tear. Only have old photos of the steering wheel and shifter to compare, the shifter was in good nick back when these photos were taken so can't really compare it.

After - Mind you, the horn pad is still the original colour, he did not touch it at all. It is absolutely stunning how close the trimmer got the colour matching! I am still gobsmacked about how good it looks. I also got him to put on "sports grip" which really feels great.

Well its been a long time since I done a proper update, got a few things to report in...

First of all, after a mate pointed out how bad my tyre wear was on the rear, I got new tyres for the front (225/35/19 on a 8.5" wide rim) and put the current front tyres on the rear, so they now have 235/35/19 on a 10" wide rim (previously was 265/35/19 but thats what I bought them with, so rather then throw them away, I thought I would get what I could out of them), so it now has a bit of stretch as seen below..

I heart the Expand.  I am wondering if you have more stretch than you need in the rear.

I was hoping to have extra stretch in the rear so hopefully I can reduce the camber a little bit as I only get 15,000kms to a set of tyres, and I often do 20,000kms per year.
However, even though I have gone from 265's with less then fingernail clearance, I now have 235's and yes I do have more clearance, however, it is still less then a 1/4" so it is still a reasonably tight fit.
With having that much clearance, I can now ride lower without having to worry about scrubbing out and ripping holes in the tyres.
So yes, I have gone too much stretch, but on the other hand, It is still required.

Just put on some new brakes on the old girl. 
RDA slotted rotors front and back, plus a brand new set of EBC brake pads.

Ok, well I guess I best of tell you the real reason behind getting new brakes...They were slightly squeeling, and having been told from my mechanic they were on their last legs, I thought "Next week I will get them replaced" however, not soon enough. Not that long ago, I was approaching a T intersection, slowed down as the car in front was turning left, he went to go, so I look right to see if I am good to go, then look straight and realised that he had not gone, I almost pushed my foot through the floor on the brake pedal and not a great deal happened, it stopped, but not quick enough like it should, and I gave his car a little nudge, it was an old 80's model Excell with the grey un-painted bumperbar and a pea-shooter exhaust poking out, no paint off his rear bar, so he got back in the car and left, however my car did not come off as well, the headlight was shoved back, alot of scratches on the bar, right hand indicator had his exhaust through it, so that was buggered.
Ordered a new indicator that night from USA, so got that fixed, and the car is in the spray shop as we speak, getting a new re-spray on the front bar, and last week I had the brake disks and pads fitted. I took the liberty of spray painting the disks and calipers in a high temp silver spraypaint. I dropped my car off at the mechanics in the afternoon, they removed the old disks and gave me the calipers which I took home, spraypainted, then took them back in in the morning for them to fit, I am yet to see them though as on the car as the car is on stock wheels due to it going in to the spray painters and the fact that it needed new rear tyres (No surprise there) so it now has a brand new set of Kuhmo KU31's (235/35/19) on a 10" wide wheel.

Reason #2 for getting new brakes - On my way home from work at about 3am, I pulled up gently to a set of quiet traffic lights, I come to a complete stop with my foot on the brake pedal, all of a sudden my foot went through the floor, and my car started rolling forward!!, I lifted my foot and applied it again and all was well... for about 5 seconds and then once again, it happened, I eased it home using the handbrake at traffic lights, (4km from work to home) got it checked out the next morning, found out that my airbags are "kinking" the brake line when they are deflated, which caused a very minor split in the brake line, so the brakes were pressurising, and then leaking off, I am damn lucky that when braking at high speeds that I did not spray brake fluid up the side of my car!!

Anyway, I should be picking up the new car this coming friday with a freshly sprayed front bar, I will take it home, and fit the rims back on it, and it should be looking mint again.

Another way to do the adhesive for the weights is brake cleaner and goo gone. Next best thing is WD40.

Love the car, now that you've got some stretch going on though I'd love to see the wheels spaced out a little. I'd really like to see the wheels in the rear poke a little ;) 

IMO when you're on bags tsurachi is what's up haha.

Looks great though man, I didn't even know they offered the LS with that wicked rear seat package.

Thanks for the tip, I have the wheels off at the moment, and a can of acetone, so will give that a try, if no good, I will give WD40 a try I think.
Im not so much into the poke look, so will be sticking with the setup I got now, as when its at my "drive" height, it sits very flush which is what I like.
They never offered the LS in Aus or USA with the rear seat package, only in Japan, and since this is an imported car, I was able to get it with the rear seat package.

Thanks mate, I would love to eventually mount the sub in more flush, put a false wall in so it almost looks standard but all comes down to money at the moment, due to having this Celsior, another LS400, 2003 XR6 Turbo, and a 2000 Holden Caprice... And not to forget, a mortgage!
