Finally getting somewhere

So i finally got to buy some things for the new project. I WAS going to build this one up like my old one at first, but seeing as how the Economy is in a shithole, I just decided to go a more budget friendly route .

Finally pieced together everything I need for my stereo upgrade. Pioneer double din and a 160gig external hard drive, Hifonics monoblock amp, and 2 12" Alpine Type R woofers. I'm going to be using the factory amplified oem speakers inside still except for the 8" woofer. The factory components get pretty loud so we'll see how they sound when I'm done:

Also picked up some 20" staggered discontinued TSW Holstens =) These wont be mounted for a while though, I need smaller tires, some spacers, and coilovers before they go on, but I got them for a steal. Not everyone's gonna love these, but I've been playing around with photoshop and these wheels and I think they'll turn out ok on my car.

And now the fun part begins...... installing the system

I had a Pioneer Avic D3 in my last LS and quite honestly I NEVER used the DVD feature. I used the navigation part a lot, but I hated having to flip between Nav screen and Playlist screen.

So instead of buying another DVD/Navi combo for $700+, I sniped this double din on Ebay for $200, and am planning to buy a Garmin navi, which depending on which one I get will be $100-200. I wanted a double din because a single one looks weird in an LS because the factory one is soo big.

It also makes it easier to scroll through long lists of songs rather than on a single din (this would have been where it would come in handy to have a touchscreen, but I dont need to spend hundreds extra just for that. Also, this one lets you plug in an external hard drive via USB port, I've grown to HATE using an iPod for a music source. Plus I just think it looks different/nice

I'll stay tuned. Nice wheels. They look very familiar. Mine are Mandrus emil, TSW made the Mandrus line of wheels exclusively for Benzs only yours are concave/no lip. Good luck on the proj.

This is what they'll look like in the end.

Ryhi: I hope you dont mind that I used a pic of your car to photoshop these wheels on. If you want I can take this pic down, but I just used your car because its black like mine, lowered on 20's. And it was a perfect sideshot for me to photoshop.

And YES I plan on rolling around at that height... MAYBE slightly higher, but definately as low as I can.

Haha thanks guys. I really wish I could blow a lot of money on this one and go all out like with my last one, but this economy blows and job security is doo doo.

So instead of JIC's I gotta get Megans, instead of UAS air suspension i gotta get nothing  and instead of AME's or better, i gotta get TSW's

Actually yea I thought about that too, just havent had time to photoshop it and see how it would look. I lso thought about fully polishing them. They have them available in chrome but I hate chrome. This is what it would look like though...

Ryhi: Again, If you'd like me to take this photoshopped pic of your car down let me know!

I cant see myself spending over a thousand on some wheels that are going to get bent to shit again. My 19inch AME's on my last LS lasted a good 3 days before it got its first bend. By the time I sold them all of them were bent. Thats what i get for daily driving it soo much
