What is the story of Work Euroline Ns?
Alright so Ive read like 404098945 forums, and I dont remmeber where I saw it. From what I understand, Work made these wheels a long while ago, but got sued by SSR for copyright or something of that nature. Work was then forced to only sell these in Japan, and werent allowed to bring them over at all. I was gonna PM suspended (Matts old wheels) on this since he has a set or shawn, but I thought Id leave this to the public too. Is that the story? Am I totally off on it? Any clarification would be awesome on this!
Thanks
Scotty

According to OneTon in a post A LONG time ago, Work licensed the design from MAE for distribution to Japan and ONLY Japan.

Re: What is the story of Work Euroline Ns?
I dont wanna say too much just yet, but I have the lead (and deposit) on a set of authentic Work Euroline Ns in silver. (not chrome like Waynes). Not MAEs by name, or Plaisirs. Theyre a set of used N's thats Ive found. Hella rare from what Im told and the more I research them, and even more rare in the states.
scotty
(but yes they look just like the Plaisirs if thats what you mean)

Re: What is the story of Work Euroline Ns?
From what Van said, MAE and Work had a gentlemen's aggreement to only sell them in Japan if I remember correctly...it was a long time ago though :-\
heres my box with the N's on it (front has 17x8.5 with 16mm offset, and rear is 17x9 with 17mm offset)

Re: What is the story of Work Euroline Ns?
What most people posted is correct... Work is one of the few wheel companies to actually have an official agreement with MAE of Germany to produce that style of wheel. As part of that "agreement," Work will not sell the wheels to any region where MAE already has a strong presence. And as an aside, yes, Work can still make the Ns (as well as most any of their older wheel designs)...if you ask them "nicely" :)
But with the Ns, they will not do it if they know they're going to the US. Learned that the hard way 3 years ago (if I remember correctly the wheel was last officially sold in '00 or '01?) when they were processing the work order to make a new set for me... and it was already going through the factory... but then when they realized my friend's company was going to ship the wheels to the US, they said "so sorry"

Re: What is the story of Work Euroline Ns?
I actually had a little scare on the way to work last week, noticed my car was driving weird, pulled into the gas station to check it out and noticed one of my tires was flat, well went to go fill it out and nothing was happeneing.....stuck my hand behind the wheel and it fell right into the tire in the back >:(.....and since i can't afford to be late to work right now, had to drive it about half a mile to a parking lot (yes, on a flat tire that was falling off of the rim and over a bridge going 5 mph...do or die!!!)...got lucky though, no curb marks from driving it, and the only damage was a flat spot on the inner lip of the wheel (from sitting on that same spot for 8 hours till i got off work and could fix it)....but a lead hammer fixed that, i consider myself EXTREMELY lucky after driving on it that far too.....funny thing was i kept telling myself "i can make it home, i can make it home"......but i guess that emotion called fear finally kicked in and i said F it ;)

Re: What is the story of Work Euroline Ns?
just got my tank and water traps in....slowly but surely, the tires put a small dent in my airride fund, so the compressor will be next week, and me and my buddy who deals with car stereo and interiors (did all my suede and leather work) have been collaborating on a clean enclosure....so only time (and money) will tell ;)
