Q45 suspension setup???
Hello everyone, well I'm still a nood to the VIP scene and i had a question, just picked up my 99 Q45 last week and I've been looking around for a good suspension set up and I haven't been able to find much. I've done some reading and i found out that a lot of people are doing the S13/S14 conversion and i was wondering, do i really have to swap out the suspension to get a good drop? and would i have to convert to S13/S14 if i was just to bag the car?
Thanks

you dont ahve to, but out of convenience i have a s14 front swap for sale lol.
I did the 14 swap, if i had a choice again, id do it again. the camber and narrower track alone make it worth it

Yeah i heard the conversion was a lot more convenient but how much would it cost to do the conversion? and is it a direct swap or is there any fabrication?
Thanks

i have most of it for 600
all you need is to reuse your tophats or get aftermarket
s14 coilovers
and tension rods.
other than that i have everything else. considering new coilovers are 2500 or so...its a steal

Grants set up for sale will probably be your cheapest and easiest solutions. I started this process and then came across some Y32 coilovers instead. The only issues with the Y32 coils is that the brakes mounting tabs are a different size. I solved that by running 300ZX/skyline brakes....G/L

So i can run Y32 coilovers but i have to convert the all 4 brakes over to 300ZX/Skyline?
thanks

You only have to convert or mod the fronts, but I upgraded the rears while I was at it...

s14 coils are too long, you need s13 coils with stock tophats or s14 rear tophats

Maybe he didn't catch the part about it being for the rear because they were originally talking about the front and then jlego switched to talking about the rear. I missed it at first and had to go back and re-read.

Maybe the S13 rear top hats studs being too short in width, compared to the S14's just bolting up IDK

I read it as ni5mo240 saying "Go with S13 cause S14 is too big" and Grant sayin "S13 is too short, do S14
I just know I got S13 coils, and a hybrid of Y33, S13, and S14 links, and can still go up or down if I wanted to. My sh!t sits as dumped as I can be to DD it, even then its still lower than most people care to try, IMO it could be lower though
