VIP "style" talk (A33)
OK, so here is the deal; I've been obsessed and followed this scene for little over 2 years now. I LOVE IT! I just recently turned 23 and have a 10 month old son, I feel like I am growing out of the turbo/drift 240 scene (I hate even saying it). Earlier this year I bought an 01 Nissan Maxima, not exactly VIP platform I know. It was cheap, I needed 4 doors, and it has ended up being a great car for me and the family. My question is; if I'm selling the 240 for parts for the Maxima (suspension, wheels) does anyone have experience of pictures of even good advice for this chassis? I know there are a few pictures of a I30/35 with some wheels and there are guys all over Maxima.org with springs and sporty wheels. I want to try to take this car to the VIP "STYLE". Most of my favorite wheels, I don't feel right would look on this car. I know the A32 Maxs' have a little better squared off body line. I'm just wanting some advice and direction. I'm no n00b to the site, but I'm the only person within 100 miles or more with any aspiration to be VIP. I can't just go to the local hang out and talk to people.
Another question...I have coilovers (Megan Racing) now, and they are fairly rough. Do the nicer higher end "VIP" coilovers offer a better smoother ride? I'm not worried about me so much but about my son riding in his car seat in the back. If anyone has experience with that it would be great also.

Thanks for the link. I just wasn't sure if there was a ride quality difference in nicer quality made coilovers. I don't mind the harsh ride, kind of enjoy it :)

I have Megan Racing coilovers in my LS400 and they ride damned near close to stock (even when slammed). I think they revalve them for a more comfortable ride seeing as they are for a Lexus. Give them a shout to see if changing the spring rates on the ones they make for your car will help with ride quality.
As far as the whole VIP thing is concerned you can find tonnes of inspiration here. Just keep reading and you'll find what you're looking for.

Dude, if you got a 10 month old in the back seat, air would be a must. You don't want your kid growing up to be a bobble head, just cause his dad wanted to be dumped.
And yeah, I've seen pics of an I floating around here, didn't look toooo bad, I mean I wouldn't rock it, but whatever, everyone's flavors are different

Not Max's, but the other A33. Quick google search buddy
If this guy sat lower, it'd make a huge difference for him

My son is definitely my biggest concern. I don't mind the harsh ride, been dealing with it since I've been driving cars from 02. I just don't want to be too rough for him or anything.
Considering selling the 240 and trying to buy a Y33 and keep the Maxima stock as my "baby mobile". Can y33s be had for around $6000? There is a local guy selling one black/black 99 Q45T with springs, JDM grill for a decent price.

My Fiance's car...I keep telling her she needs to lower it...
There is a sick one here in fl but he goes through CV joints like no other since he is actually low...
the ride quality on coils will probably never get significantly better. You may notice a small difference but don't expect miraculous

I definitely don't want to put my son at risk, or make it uncomfortable for him.
I had a friend today bring up the point of why have 2 large sedans, it seems redundant. valid point in my book. how do you all feel about VIP inspired 240s? Low, good fitment, nice wheels

^haha. for my girl it's the fact that she is actually Buddhist....and it matches with her Sessions neck pads. She is short so the neck pads are very comfortable for her
