VIP "style"
I think my last thread was deleted. Guess I pissed someone off by having an opinion. Anyhow I am still looking for more clarification on why some members here only consider certain platforms to be VIP and the rest to be VIP "style." I've read all the threads I could find about it, especially the stickies, I am just hoping to have a conversation about it instead of being told I'm wrong. So...
I understand that VIP is rooted in Japan and that it began with certain types of vehicles. Like the President, Aristo, etc. I also understand the argument for trying to keep the VIP world true to it's roots instead of publicizing it like crazy to make a dollar and eventually destroy the scene altogether.
Here's what I DON'T get.
1. WHY limit VIP to only certain styles of cars? I have yet to see a reason for it, other than "because thats what it started with." Not that it is an invalid claim, I just personally don't think that is enough reason to justify segregating cars from each other.
2. Why is there a differentiation between VIP and VIP"style", when VIP is itself, a style. VIP is style-based and not performance-based so isn't saying VIP "style" rather redundant?
3. Who was so irate with me disagreeing with this practice that they deleted my last post? Or am I just clueless and unable to locate it?
I feel like I'm asking legitimate questions here. I'm new to the scene and I am trying to learn. Please don't take it personally and exercise your Moderator power by removing my thread this time. It's not like I insulted your mother.
Thanks.

Well, I don't know, but this is what they ask us newbies to read:
According to Taketomi, true VIP style tuning is limited to only 10 Nissan and Toyota models: Nissan President, Cima, Gloria, Cedric and Fuga; Toyota Celsior, Century, Aristo, Crown and Majesta. That’s it.

Most likely your thread was deleted based on the many other ones that pose the same questions and concerns. Its important that you read the stickys starting with this one:
This is the premise of this styling.

Begin in 101 and work your way through. BTW welcome to the site!
I am closing your thread to avoid further questions but not deleting it so you know what i'm requesting of you. There is alot of info on here and it's necessasary for you to do the footwork. Most importantly try to have fun and keep an open mind. Dont commit yourself to a position and realize that at some point everyone was where you are now. Enjoy!

It was deleted by a mod (not me) who added a note saying there are plenty of threads discussing this.
In Japan, VIP is a type of car, not an acronym meaning very important person. Just like you have Sport Compact, Coupe, truck etc, vip is used to describe the big, rwd luxury sedans released by Japanese manufacturers.
If you have one of those cars, it is called 'vip'. Doesnt matter if its modded or not.
Thats where these 'silly rules' came from. Its just the label they put on certain types of cars. Euros are called euros and american cars are caled Amesha, or American cars.
The particular style applied to these cars can be put on other cars, hence they are vip 'styled'
Make sense?

I deleted your thread, yes an admin (I was actually surprised a mod hadn't deleted it). Next time SEARCH the forums. This topic has been discussed tenfold. We don't need wasted bandwidth on reposts. We're mostly adults on this forum and can only assume you understand how to make your way around a forum and use the search function like most everyone else does. Acting up will get you no where...for the sake of your complaining, I won't delete this..but it is getting the lock but will stay up as an example of what not to do.
