building my exhaust system...

well, lately ive been getting back into welding. havent done any real or heavy welding since bagging my truck. so, i brought my welder to work and helped my coworker build 2 sets of exhaust for each of his BMW E32 750il... one was a dual in, single out flowmaster, 2.5" pipe. and the other was dual cherry bombs, h-pipe, 2.5" pipe. sorry no pics... but this is what ive started builing for my G50. 2.5" x-pipe. built it from scratch using 2-2.5" U-bends.

the bottom portion will be used, the top shorter pipes were mock ups but will look something like it... just another one of those things i dont have to pay a shop to do, and i get to take credit for it..=)
 
 
 
2.5" pipes off he cats, x-pipe, single in/out dual flowmaster or magnaflow, out the back to 2-3" angle cut chrome truck tips.... this will be slow process so dont expect updates frequently...

Welding was always my worst skill. I could never get it to look that clean. Good job

My neighbor has a E32 750il.. i love it!  good work.. welding has been a handicapp of mine also!

how does that dewalt electric grinder work? Been thinking about getting one so I don't have to hook up the compressor...

Thanks guys. My weakness is tinting... tried it,and I know its one thing I can't do... I was hoping to buy more piping and look into mufflers yesterday but ended up doing a side job and ended up lifting a tacoma 8" suspension, 3" body.... side cash for christmas I guess....  but more to come.

My g50 has an exhaust leak, driver side right before the secondary cat so that's why I doing a custom exhaust. I've been doing choke research on exhaust set ups i.e. pros and cons of an h-pipe vs an x-pipe, pipe size with the number of cylinders I have, dual mufflers vs dual in/dual out single muffler... I'm mainly going for sound here. 

And yes its a millermatic 135 115v, gets the job done. I also got a millermatic 175 220v at home. Bought that bad boy specifically to do the welding on my truck when I bagged it (welding frame). Had to make a custom conversion/extention cord that plugged into the dryer outlet.
