New to scene, but not to cars

Hey guys, whats going on.

My name is Taylor, I have been into building fast cars and low hondas, and everything like that for some odd 8-9 years now... And I came to the point/realization that going fast and breaking parts is getting old and a weeeeee bit expensive. I had completed a 7-8k engine build, and not including the wheels, suspension, paint, seats... yada yada yada. And then I can't even drive the car all the time.

I am ready to build something nice, comfortable and good looking.

I am starting my "build" list/Idea of what I want, I know the platform I am looking at and might be picking up soon. a 1997 Y33, I found a bronze color with 66k miles. I won't bore you with price, or make you jealous.

I have been looking at some stuff already and I have an idea where I would like to go with it. I would like to thank "antbo" for the inspiration of what I want to do with it, saw his for sale add and just about blew a load in my pants.

anyways, this has been long winded enough.... I will see you guys around!

hopefully, within the next few weeks. I am trying to haggle him on the price, as he wants a little more then I have right now.

EDIT*

ooooh just found a M45, low mileage and decent price. I like both platforms, and it wont be getting and big mods for a little while.... choices choices...

If u get the y33, welcome to the club. The m45 is sick too especially since no one really has them. But I think the interior is too small. But to each their own.

I understand, and looking at prices of things already.... I noticed. But the car won't be driven in the same manner. The cars I used to build were being rode hard and put up wet, breaking and then having to replace another engine just got old. Replacing tires, and getting alignments, changing the oil and putting gas in it seems smarter.

Oh, did I mention that I am tired of trying to be faster then everyone else? I would rather be driving something nice, and comfortable.

Thanks for the welcome though!

you meant replacing tires daily/weekly/monthly, not being able to get alignments, changing oil pans, and filling up w/ $60 worth of gas every 3 days right?

this is not the cheap alternative.

Def not cheap or comfortable if you drive it low enough.

Mod according to your budget but don't get into this thinking it will be cheap. Luckily for you, used parts are not as hard to find if you choose to go that route

Oh yea, Welcome

I was thinking the same thing... How comfortable can those nice leather seats really be when you're slammed on extra stiff suspension.

Yeh welcome bro and keep us updated on your progress. Platforms are different (lux & rice) but concepts are the same. JDM parts, Exporting, Modding, with more focus on spension work. We the most of us still build from the ground up and occasionally like some power. Also we get eyed every once in a while too. Never safe from ignorance, but you'll catch a few girls eyein you (even more dudes tho ;p -yuk). Enjoy yer stay!

Hahaha thx AGI for the quote..i figued someone would appeal to at least one!

I am still up in the air on the platform I am choosing...:signdammit: so its still Y33 or M45. I am not sure the chassis code of the M45, Y34 I think... (03-05)

I understand a lot of you go coils, but I plan on going air for drive-ability in my area. Indianapolis is synonymous for having bad roads. I also don't plan on this being a Daily Driven type thing. Alignments? Tires? I will just say, it pays to know people. I understand tire size has to do with price as well, so that is understood.

Thanks again guys for the welcome, I also just want to say... this isn't my first rodeo on spending a good amount of money. That is what having a good job and all that jazz is about. "work hard, play harder"

ok, here is a question I can't find a complete answer for.

I was looking at Junction Produce kits, and do there kits fit USDM models? they have two options the Ced.... and the Gloria. I know the headlights are different, and any input would be nice. I looked at the Auto Couture as well, but it looks poor/bland for the price.

Living here in the midwest, I think it would be a pretty rare kit as there arent many that are modded out here.

Plus, didnt someone say there are not too many M45's on this site?

ask and ye shall receive! I know its not a true EG6, but I never claimed that one was. I have other pics of an actual SiR-II, but they are printed and from an old 35mm kodak one time use camera.
