New to VIP.

First off, Thank you for providing such a great web site!

I recently flew down to Dallas Texas to pick up my 1998 Y33 Q45t. I drove it all the way home back to Michigan. What a pleasure. I was in comfort the entire time.

I have been into Nissans my entire life, and have stuck with the Z31 platform. I currently have two 1988 300zx's, one is a shiro special and the other I transplanted a rb25det into and am currently building a rb30det for it.

Here are a few pics of the Q, from when I bought it last Tuesday till today. The mustang wheels are winter wheels and tires.

Thanks! The windows are being tinted on Monday, with 35% all the way around. Body kit is on the way (version select), and I am still needing the Cima front fogs. Wheel choice has been made and coilovers are supposed to be at my door by late spring.

Both have extensive suspension work done to them. On the black car I have double the spring rate and tokico illuminas, upgraded brakes, full interior work and much much more. Here is a link to that build. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=119145.

The coilovers that are shown in that build are currently on the shiro special (the pearl white car). The Shiro has stance gr+3way coilovers made for a s13. I bought toyota cressida weld on strut tube adapters to make the coilovers bolt in in the front, then I made the upper and lower perches in the rear to make them bolt in also. The shiro was bought as a basket case, over the course of one year I assembled it and that is how it sits currently. I have a youtube page, that has a few videos of the black car, I don't think that I have any videos of the shiro yet. http://www.youtube.com/user/racinjitter

This style of weld in adapters will work for the y33, but I am waiting for a promised coilover setup produced by USA coilover company. The owner of this company also has a 97 q45. I am unsure if he wants me to release all of the information, so I will keep it hush... But he does plan for full production mid to late spring of 2010.

Oooh the 3 ways how do you like those? I came close to getting a set for my s13 back in the day. What widths and offsets are you going to get the v550's in in?

I absolutely love the 3ways. They can be comfy as a couch, and still handle +1.0g's. I couldn't beat the price either. I paid 1300 for the full set of coilovers and a set of SPL RUCA's for a s13.

As for the wheels I am thinking of 19x9.5 et +5 fronts and 19x10 et +5. Not too aggresive, but with a slight roll and stretch I should be able to ride with -1 to-2 degrees of camber front and rear.

Camber wear is my main concern, I drive 54 miles one way to work. If I were to run -6 degrees of camber I would be replacing tires every month.

Now if I can install bags on top of the coil overs I will do that, at least I will be able to get in my driveway then.

That is so freakin cheap I am jealous. New or used? I ran across them from a few companies that had the old original prices from when they first came out and held them to it and I felt lucky. That width and offset should get you a pretty nice lip considering, something like ~3.75" I think.

I bought them used, from a guy out of New Mexico that had broken his back and could no longer drive his s13. He also had a bunch of work equip's with gangster offsets/widths... But I couldn't justify them at that time. IIRC they were 18x10 et -15 and 18x12 et -10. I can't wait for this car to come together. I am anxious for the body kit to arrive.

I was never the biggest fan of those equips personally but wide low offset ones are plentiful. I found some nice equip 01's before in 18s that were something like a 10 front 12 rear with negative offsets and I still kick myself for not buying them.
