LS400 Megan coilovers bottomed out.
Hey guys I just put these coilovers on and didnt touch the front and its pretty low. I wanted to lower the rear like 3" but after about 1" the coilover bottomed out on the lower bracket. How can I get it to go lower?

Dude...are you sure? Could you be getting a thump from worn out trailing arm bushings or rear carrier bushings. Im pretty low on megans and can still go lower. You didnt adjust the perch did you?

Hey I still have a lot of thread left on the shock body but the threaded part is bottomed out on the lower bracket where you bolt it?
Does that make sense? Sorry i'm trying to describe it as best I can.
I just don't understand why they would have all that adjustability if it just bottoms out.
Should I try drooping the springs?

happened with mine also...had to play with the top adjustment to get to the stance i had in my sig below...
when i raise the car, the spring can move freely about ~1-1.5" or so..which is not that great but it works.

Alright so the only option is drooping the spring, thanks!

Dont adjust the perch down. The spring is preloaded in regards to proper tension. Did you put the rears on the front and the Front on the Rears....There should be more room....We need pics of Front and back.
From what I remember the upper mountind stubs and the bottom strut mount hole thing are the same so it is relatively easy to mount the wrong way.

What did you do, did you have them on backwords i.e. fronts on the back, backs on the fronts?

No I put them on right, you just have to droop the rear spring a lot to get low.

Just curious...How did you drop the rear spring more? Did you bring down the strut assembly by turning it or did you lower the perch?
Spooze...
The Megans come with the tension preset on the lower perch and the damper set to a somewhat firm setting. The come pretty slammed out of the box from what I remember...I had to raise mine about 1.5 inches if i recall but im on 20's so I may not be as low as some peeps out there.

it was turned to the lowest setting, then in addition, the top perch was adjusted to bring the car down another 1"

woo looks sweet!! now if you were to get the air sus cups you could go even lower right im looking to possibility go coil with air cup and just wondering hows the ride quality?

remove one collar on the coils.
should drop more.

not a bad drop at all. i like my K-sports since i can ride dropped dumb low(screw ride quality), but its a PITA to adjust. probably next'll be megans with shorter strut housings.

actually if he cupped it originally without decreasing the spring preload he would sit higher at full drop than without the cups. the cups ADD to your overall coilover height, requiring you to set the static height of your coilover lower than without the cups in order to achieve the same drop.
guys, look at a picture of the UCF1/2x megan coils, they're full-tap coils, so ditching one of the lock collars wont make a difference unless you're maxed out on both the actual strut length adjustment AND need to max out on the spring preload, which given the amount of room remaining, would likely mean every bump you hit that springs going to pop out of place.

Ok...Ok...I tried adjusting my megans down and I turned it down about a quarter inch and it bottomed out. Your right they dont go that low in the back. I can't tuck my rims without air.

Hey guys anyone ever have problems with these cars not getting spark?
My starter burned out and I changed it, when I tried to fire it up it just cranks.
Could it be a short in the wiring? I've already tried different ecu, igniters, and CAS.
