HELP Planning - RA1 Audio Build
Not wanting crazy bass, just some good SQ and something good at shows.
Instead of doing a big 5 channel amp, I think (2) smaller amps would do. I plan on pulling off the covers, exposing the internals behind some plexiglass and lighting, maybe mirrors or the "infinity LED mirror" trick. The van won't be on air for awhile, but this is all just the planning stages.
Here are a few design ideas. I went out today and took some measurements, and photos of the actual area.
The trunk tub measures about 37"W - 33"W and the length is 18", depth is 8.5".
After thinking about having (2) 10's there, plus a recessed amp rack for (2) small amps (maybe 12-14" of width room) I decided that it wasn't going to be enough room.
Here is a few sketch options I was thinking about, also utilizing the side left pocket for a FG sub box.. See what you think.
When the van gets AIR RIDE: - (Air tank would be recessed into the tub, but compressor would be on top?)

Here's a sketch from greg s.
Looks too lopsided with one sub up on the side and the other down low. Alternately you could do one sub on each side of the well, angled down and stack the amps in the senter under a plexi cover with LED lighting under and between the amps. I would either paint the interior of hte amp compartment white or silver or alternately line it with metal or mirrored plexi to reflect the lighting better. For the upper trim around the subs and amp compartment you could do it out of wood to get the look of the VIP xB you posted earlier. I would then put the compressor and two 2.5 gal tanks on the left side stacked vertically. You'll need to remove most of the lower plastic and build trim panels in their place, but you could put all the air parts under plexi widows and light them up from behind.

A few options here:
I Absolutely love my box, wanted it the way it is because initially I was going to make a stealth amp rack in the backrest of the rear bench, with Plexi and ported on the sides...
decided to wait, maybe that will work for you...
