Cedric Y32 in England

from what i no there are only 2 in England, and il have one of two :D
 
just thought id share my love for vip styling, u dnt get cars like what u lot have and im soon to have over here, we crnt go as low as u crazy ppl due to speed bumps every 100 yards, and these speed bumps are regulation 6 - 8 inchs high.

obv not ur guys cups of teas over there but over here its worth a fair bit, and is very popular with street racing over here.
 
the main reason im showing u the y32, is im after sum after market parts for this beast, firstly dominik has digital dials on his y32 and i love it and want one, secondly i just want advice, due to the fact i can never go as low as u guys untill i leave the uk that is, im just woundering how i can make this as vip as possible, i can obv add camber to the rears but will obv not look so sweet due to the fact i crnt lower it :(

Definitely snap some pics once you get it. Looks pretty clean.
You could get it low though. Try Air, or even Hydros, coilovers are probably outta the question though
But fursure, if you need help, I as well as others would be willing to help with what we can.

As far as trying to start giving the Cedric a vip look, I'd start with figuring some way to slam it. Air would probably be your best bet. Since the style is based on stance, that should get covered first. Another plus I see with going that route is, apparently your area is infested with speed bumps, so seemingly, no one else would lower their vehicles either because of that, and if you're on air and can raise your car with the flip of a switch, you'll have the sickest ride in town =) That with proper fitment, and you'll be off to a great start

my car is an irmscher astra, made by vauxhall/Opel who are owned by GM

my daily ride is top spec model of the standard astra, body kit, bigger engine, every option, leather, heated seats/wing mirrors, basically if u want the irmscher model u have to pay £5k on top of the top spec model. the top spec model is $27k and for the irmscher it's $32k, quite alot when it was new, it's worth about half that now due to being 8 years old. 

don't no if u have these over there, but if anyone wants it I can ship it to them if ya want. the y32 is wat I wana focus on :)

Thanks brokey, that does sound insane, the whole of England is riddled with speed bumps, every street has them, stop us speeding :) 

air does sound the best option, where would i aquire such an item? we have lots of nissans over here Silvia 350z and lots of 300z, same as the Lexus we see a Lexus gs300 -430 every time we turn a corner, could I make that for the y32? thanks again for the advice

Well maybe try getting a hold of the vendors advertising air ride systems on here. Or try getting Y32 coilovers , remove springs, and slip on some UAS (Universal Air Suspension) on em. You can find the coils in most places. And the bags can be found with vendors, or used in the For Sale section.

I never heard of a cima or Cedric till like 5 months ago :) there isn't one cima in England :) il keep an eye out for air bags and coils then, if u see anythink before I do if u could drop me a pm that would nice

Hey mate, welcome to the site!

First off let me congratulate you on the purchase of your Y32. Looks to be in decent condition (hard to see in pics though), so you should be able to get straight into modifying it (in my case i have spent of my time 80% fixing, 20% modifying)

Next, welcome to the joys of owning an extremely rare car (outside of Japan). There are virtually NO parts available off the shelf, and everything must be ordered from Japan. Luckily it was a popular car there, and also good aftermarket support; so there are lots of parts available on Yahoo auctions and other parts shops (even thought its getting old now).

However, Nissan does share lots of mechanical parts amongst it's lineup, so with a little research/measuring you can find some compatible parts locally (Engine parts, suspension - except for the front struts, etc). I have also become quite accustomed to finding parts from other cars and modifying them to work on my car (Mitsubishi heater core, pathfinder radiator etc)

Now, as for the digital dash i retrofitted to my car. Word of caution: it is a big job. The wiring harness is *completely* different, so its a case of rewiring all 70ish wires into 5 or so plugs. You need a working digital dash, complete with all plugs and at least 5cm of the wiring harness (search on Yahoo auctions, expect to pay 10,000yen for a good one). Needs to be from the same grade of car as yours (V8/V6T/V6/5spd auto/4spd), and make sure you get one from an auction that shows it working in the car (reason being, the first meter i got was broken but i didnt realise until i was 90% done with the conversion). 

If you are getting it done by an auto electrician, it may not be cheap (no idea what they charge), but if you are doing it yourself, give yourself a full weekend to be safe. It might take alot less though; i spent alot of time working out which wires go where and comparing wiring diagrams etc. I have a writeup of what i did somewhere, so if you are serious about it, i can find that and scan it for you.

Also, when you are doing it, before you put the dash in, take it apart and clean the lenses. They build up a huge amount of dust on the inside (invisible from the outside), which makes the screen seem dim. After a clean they look great, even during the day.

the car it's self is spot on, cars only coverd 34.000 miles yep 34k :) so it's just the body I wana work, it has 20" feet at the min which are huge. I dnt no if there to big, but from what I keep reading u guys dnt like going past 19s. for obv reason I crnt stretch the tires like u guys, here the roads are a mess, it's the last on the governents agenda to repair. 

it's a 3.0 v6 auto. cloth interior which I wana change to leather. I've seem sum awesome one in japan for so little cash, it's just importing that's a fair bit of wonga, lukily I got a heads up on this car arriving :) Its not what u no it's who u no :)

Dominik your white y32 is what I wana achieve, crnt go as low but the whole look u have is sexy. What I'm really looking forward to is having the only VIP car in England :) I've done months of research and not found on yet. 

hopefully funds permiting it won't be long till I'm cruising. shame I have no one to cruise with :/

For seat covers, i recommend some Clazzio R seat covers. I'm sure all the other leather seat covers fit similarly, but this is the one i have tried... And i get so many compliments on it, its hard to believe i only paid $100 for the complete set, secondhand. All the seams line up perfectly - only problem is that they dont go that well over LEATHER seats. On your cloth seats they will sit like factory.
 
As for the lowering and stretched tyres, other people have mentioned it before, but i think you should go for air suspension. There are 3 options:
 
Off the shelf kit like Airrunner (the Y33 Cima/Q45 application should fit your car)
-- Expensive (USD$4kish?)
-- Proven ride quality and reliability
 
 
Custom air suspension (this site seems to do that in the UK [URL]http://www.autofashion.co.uk/air_ride_suspension.htm[/URL] - this was just found with a google search so i have no idea how good they are)
-- Can range from cheap to very expensive depending on where you go
-- usually you dont get the millimetre precision that you would get from Airrunner or UAS on Coilovers
-- Local support in case something goes wrong
 
 
UAS on coilovers (UAS airsuspension kit put on coilover struts leaving the coilover adjustment perches in place for millimetre height adjustability)
-- Have to buy coilovers, and then also the airsuspension kit, which could end up the same price as airrunner
-- Installation costs (many do it themselves)
-- ride quality - some complain its too stiff (though that should be seen as a positive for VIP applications) 
 
 
The reason people dont like 20" rims so much is that it often means the owner doesnt intend to drive very low. On the Y32 they do look almost comically large too. 18s look perfect and most magazine Y32s run this size, but unless you are seriously low they can look too small. 19s are a good compromise IMO.
