Everything was fine untill the car started feeling like it wanted to stall..It was just up the road after i had passed the old dude. Now the car runs rough only in drive, when im at a red light i put it in N. and it idles fine, but if i leave it in D it idles rough like it wants to shut off but it doesnt.. So please help what could it be?!?!?!

sounds like bad gas lol.

bad gas wouldn't do it only if it was in drive, check your plugs/wires. sounds like a random misfire at higher RPMs. if you have ignition coils, it could be that too. my BMW did that when the coil packs started to go, i would hit the gas, serious hesitation, then it would catch and go. but for extra initiative, drop some dry gas in the tank.

Do you have a CEL? If not it should have flashed on when you were trying to speed around grandpa so try accelerating onto the freeway a little quicker than usual on a long straight and flat on-ramp (its safer). If no codes appear then I would check in no specific order:
-EGR
-Coils
-Plugs
-Fuel Filter
-Listen for noises with the hood up at idle/rev. Roll down your window while driving at a slow speed on an empty road.
-Feel for any movements or lack of movement driving up hill.
-Smell your exhaust (Dont be stupid when doing it)

We posted at the same time... Weird. Anyway the coils are individual/independant and are about $110 each. So it is advised to change them all at once but can be spendy. If your on a budget then find out which are causing problems and change the rest as soon as possible.

yeah i just noticed that. i know about the coils man. that shit cost about 180 a piece for the bimmer. i did that whole coil pack test trick, unplugged each individual one, and just watched the difference for each coil.

You might want to check the knock sensors my car was hesitating off the line in my y33, I thought it was an ignition problem but I researched and the knock sensors are a common issue with these cars. Hope this helps!

Not to scare you, but I had very similar issues that just snowballed, until my engine went. Seems there was an issue with number 1 injector being stuck open and washing out that cylinder. I HIGHLY doubt its the case with yours, on NICO, most people reported changing their coilpacks solved the issue. I have 2 sets for sale if you're interested ;)

I had the same issue changed my Fuel Pump, Filter, Coilpacks, spark plugs, tranny oil, filter and a bunch of other bs and still had the issue thought it was something major. I ended up changing my MAF with a used one from the junk yard and the problem went away. Sometimes the soldering in the MAF goes and it moves out of contact and ruins the whole Air to Fuel ratio which causes your car to choke and run very rich. If you can try put the car in D and have someone Tap the MAF and see if it causes the car to change its Idle or if you can source a used working one try that fix if nothing else helps.

MAF is a given lol and I completely forgot. It's also one of the cheaper/easier things to do.

i said it could be bad gas because when he went WOT the problem occured.
MAF going bad could also be it, loss of power and at idle the car wants to stall out.

for MAF, you can try cleaning it out first to see if thats the issue, if it still persists, then swap it out for a new/used one.

the spray can only do so much.
Its better if you buy one instead dont have to wrry about it giving out randomly.
original fuel pump and filter as in you have never changed it since you bought the car?>???
if so changed it.
and check out the injectors also.
