Megan Coilovers? Aristo help
Ok so I searched and searched. Still cant find my answer. Just got my Megan Coilovers and installed. the rears happen to lower a WHOLE lot more than the fronts. I wanna be slammed! in order for me to do it this is what I did. The rear coils arent screwed in all the way. The fronts ARE screwed in all the way. The front was still sitting higher than the rear. SO I adjusted the top nut on the front coils to get it to sit lower. I know thats bad. But how bad? Cause now they bottom out every once in awhile. What can I do to sit lower...everyone says these drop our cars the lowest...

well if I can remember...I put the bigger tops in the front and the smaller ones in the rear. Just like how I pulled out my stock struts.
but with my setup of how it is now. the rear went looooow i mean lowwwww lol i was able to get the rear to cover almost half the rim lol. So I guess what ill do tonight is switch them around. hopefully this will fix my problem...

your uca's are probably hitting in the front , keeping you from going lower.
you can get a 2" hole saw bit and drill out the inner wheel well for more clearance
here is a topic on CL

k so than its prob the UCA's. cause i just checked out my car, and its not possible to get the fronts mixed with the rears. the diameter between the bolts are different from the rears to the fronts.
but still, does anybody have a answer as far as how bad it is that i had to lower the top nut on the front coils to sit lower?!!?

ok so Im lost. help me people please haha...k so my coils are on correctly.
My setup:
Rears: 245/40/19
Fronts: 225/40/19
REARS:
when i screwed in the bottom all the way in. Left the top nut alone. The rear drops low. I can cover close to half my rim.
Fronts:
I screwed in the bottom all the way in. left the top alone. The front wouldnt even tuck the rim.
SO WHAT I DID WAS: lower the top nut on the front. Now i got my front wheel to tuck. the rear i screwed the bottom nut out so that it wont sit lower than the front. but now that i messed with the top nut how bad is this? is it not gonna last? am i gonna hurt the struts?!?!?
how are you guys able to get so low? this is my DD and i want to ride tucking. "phillyGS3" says to cut a whole for the UCA. Sounds ghetto so I dont want to go that rout. but thanks phillygs3 lol!

Your rear tires should be 245/35/19 shouldn't they?

Your rear tires should be 245/35/19 shouldn't they?
Why would they have to be? Its ok to have taller tires in the back sometimes.
These tires were used so it really was all i could find at the time.

Adjusting the spring perch will remove the pre-load of the spring and you may bottom-out your struts and break them.

ok so its done. All figured out thanks to Cyrus at Megan racing. Says you want to give your springs Zero preload after receiving them. Than after that you can actually lower the top nut 1"inch. So as of right now im maxed out in the front. Showing less than half a tire. UCA hits every once in awhile but thats ok. Gotta pay to look good

dramas hey. i had this too with my insurance group coilovers, couldnt get low enough. i ended up buying shorter springs with harder spring rates and giving them free droop to get low enough. since the springs are so hard it saves the shocks from bottoming out.
damn uca's kill me though :P

i did the same thing you did how stiff did you put ur fronts after adjusting the preload? and do they still bottom out time to time?

why is it ghetto to cut a hole for your UCA's? You can have someone make a bax type cover and weld it up. The idea is to drive without the knocking noise.

gbpgs300:
I set struts in the middle. I raised the car cause i was about to sell it. Some guys asked me to raise it before they bought it so i did. ended up no selling so i lowered it again. I made sure i cut the plastic this time tho. but after lowering it the first time than raising it than lowering it again. It doesnt knock anymore.
