Not necessarily a Noob... but new to VSC.

From what I can tell unless you show that you know what you're talking about (to some degree of interpretation that is) you will stay stuck here in VIP101. So here goes my first post. It's a pictorial of what my LS430 has gone through since I originally purchased it... all input, comments, and opinions are welcome.

This is basically how I bought it but I had the grill painted black and a Tom's Spoiler added.

Forum image
Close up of the grill after it's been painted.

Close up shot of the Tom's Spoiler

Forum image
Underhood detail, Fujita F5Air and custom painted engine cover.

Forum image
L-Sportline MIV Wheels and lowering springs... slightly dropped for driving on Texas roads.

Forum image
Close up of the wheels, painted calipers and Cadmium Coated Rotors.

Forum image

Custom tailpipes by Flowmaster... not JDM but they look nice and they let others know you're serious.

Forum image
Blacked out headlights.... probably my favorite modification of all.

Forum image
HID fogs to match the headlamps... my second favorite mod to speak of.

Forum image
Currently how the car sits but I'm not finished yet....

This next on the menu, ordering tomorrow and added other mods. More pics to come.

Well welcome to the site. Not feelin the ride as a whole. The wheel/tires could use a change. Can't even tell it was lowered. Might wanna remove the little R by the 430 on the rear. Lights look alright, murdered out cars ain't my flavor, but other people dig it. Good luck with the build man, that end result would be nice.

Welcome
Perfect platform – I favor your newly chosen route over the old. I like nearly all of your modifications and that you’ve selected the Job Difference kit. However, I think the “R” after LS430 is unnecessary and offensive. There are very conversant members on the site and I wish you good fortune on your build.

Different point of view as it sits now. Originally just wanted smoked tails but the guys who did it went darker than I wanted. I'm changing that too...

Agree about they tires and they have since been changed from 285/255 to 275/245 so now they're lower profile - The "R" has a multitude of meanings for me.... my last name is Rendon and almost every custom vehicle I've ever owned has had my "signature" on it but thanks for the honest opinion. I do appreciate it. (And for the record, murdered out is my favorite look.) =)

Thanks for comment. The main reason I went with JobDesign is that it's a full bumper replacement and not just a lip kit. I wanted the LS to look like it came that way and not just had lips added to it. As an added bonus, it's in stock and ready to go...

Thanks for your support, and please take note above about the "R" in the comment above.

I appreciate all the comments and criticism but with all due respect, in the end this is my car and I've got to please myself more than the masses... I'm the one who will be driving it and showing it. While everyone has different opinions about what is and what isn't "VIP" the one fact I encourage all on this forum to consider is this... The most "Very Important Person" that will be enjoying your vehicle is you, so do to your car what you want to do so that in the end you are enjoying it.

Thanks for the vote and compliments. Your opinion is duly noted. I say what I say because when I'm looking the VIPCar Magazine from Japan I'm seeing all kind of crazy shizzz, including the blacked out tails, emblems, crazy paint jobs, etc.... anyway, while I can't read Japanese the pictures speak loud and clear to me... it's all based on what the owner wants, likes, and enjoys. Granted there are definitely guidelines in the VIP scene but I really can't believe that there's any book of rules and regulations about what exactly makes a car "VIP Style". Again, I'm just a drop of water in the ocean when it comes to all this but this is my own interpretation on what I think VIP is.... anyone is welcome to agree or disagree. That's what makes a forum a good venue for expression.

Maybe someone will have to make A new sub category 'VIP-esque' for the people who want to run curtains and pillows and fusas whilst keeping conservative offset wheels and ride heights for Daily Driving

I can't see how that wouldn't be received well! lol. :infartout:

I like the blacked out looked, except dump the badges (especially the R badge), and uncover the taillights. Don't want people not able to see your taillights and ruin a nice car. Then dump it on some all black wheels, that would be murdered-VIP. Be different, don't conform.
