sandwiching the face : sequel
while it may be funny to some, its def not what you think...
i wish i could get another .5" width out of these to get the tire fitment and poke i want instead of constantly looking for other wheels.

i noticed the edges of the face look fairly flat anyone know if its safe to sandwich the face between the 2 barrels?

why dont you just buy spacers? It will be a lot cheaper

cuz i want the extra width and the stretch cuz it makes a difference on overall fit, stance and clearance. i want also cuz i really wanted 10" and they are only 9's but ill settle for 9.5 or something close.
im not worried about the cost. and i would assume taking apart wheels and reassembeling them is probably as costly as buying spacers and arp studs

ive never seen a set of 18x9.5 or 18x10 in 4x100....
spacer arent done for me, spacers means u dun f'd up on your calculations and the next set will be better.
buying new barrels to get .5" is def not the economical way to go besides, ive already had my wheels refinished... just never got to use them on anything
anyone know if its safe or does the wheel have to be assembled a certain way?

best answer and idea yet. i recall seeing that other people have "flipped the face" but havent seen anyone sandwiching it. If you have heard or seen others doing it, its good enough for me.
anyone else trying to suggest spacers..... im sure there are some other ppl here that are wishing they had just a small bit more poke without spacers and tiny bit more stretch for the tire size they have to get the "perfect stance" so i figure id ask here since the flipping the face thread was poppin like a bag of pops candy.
wheel adapters are one thing but after getting my stance on the G35 without spacers, im not sure if i can ever go back... it feels much more satisfying to achieve the stance im trying to get without cheating

This thread kinda gives you an example of what you and I are talking about. Hope that helps.

wow great link! looks like the "proper" way for bbs wheels is to sandwich the face and there are also wheel manufacturers that have the face on the outside also...
im definately going to have to try this when i get some time for it

My old Veilside wheels has the face sandwich between the 2 lips. They come that way fromt Veilside. Some of Veilside wheels have the face in front some between the barrel.
My Veilside Andrew V has the face between the lips. The Andrew Dish, I bellieve has the face on top of the lips.
