Executives Garage in SD

Sorry guys  I gotta vent this shit and hopefully save someone else the time and trouble with this. About 2 weeks ago I was buying some VIP mags and when I came back to my car I noticed a crack in my hoods paint and a nice dent along with it. Well knowing my luck they had to repaint the whole hood, ok fine I had the cash so I figured my hood needed to refinished anyways. Well I start calling around gettin quotes, then while On craiglist I saw these guy called Executives Garage......They had some pretty dope cars  and from my research they didnt have any BAR actions on them or any bad reviews. So I took my car down there to them upon arrival I saw the shop manager had had a pretty dope 350z with good fitment so I trusted them a little bit more. They quoted me at 400 for a 2 stage paint job which sounded reasonable and heres where things went to shit. On my way out I informed the dude that my hood orniment was stuck on with double sided tape so it would be easy to take off when they painted it.....Ok 3 days later I went to pick it up, upon arrival they told me they just sprayed it that day...Ok why did it leave it with you for 3 days then....Then they told me that I would have to come back to have it wet sanded....Ok see you then, after I got home I took off my orniment so they could wet sand the whole hood then to my horror I saw they just painted around it WTF now I had a nice little cut out of where my orniment used to be....Ok I call the shop they blame me but then say they will fix it anyways citing that I should of taken it off ( I thought since I was payin 400$ they could do the liberty of doing that) anyways today I  picked it up and guess what? Now there is a haze all over my front bumper and part of my door that wont come off, it looks like sum 1 shot their load on my car but its prb paint thinner. Great....well now I gotta go back for the 3rd time and I have already wasted over 150$ in gas and not to mention my time and not having a car ....So sorry to be a winy bitch bout this but I hope others will take caution and not do what I did, I wasnt even trying to cut corners, I just was hoping to find a good shop that I could do biz with in the future...well that didnt work..So I hope I can save sum 1 the trouble I have gone thru with this shit and like always in the end should of gone to Autofashion...:pat: FUCK!


Just note anything I say in this thread is my opinion on this matter and I cannot really comment on any other work they have done to anyone elses car.

Thats how it is man. I would come to the forum and ask around the next time you need a reputable shop. I tend not to trust shops who advertise on craigslist.

Ive done stuff like that to go cheap and in the end I pay more than if I did it right thefirst time.

^ Actualy I wasn't going the cheap route cause 400$ was in the middle of the quotes I was getting, so I dunno but what I do know is this sucks and now I got a fucked up front end ....

Damn man, sorry about the bad situation, I've delt with asses like that during my build so far too, not in the paint department, but making me some custom stuff. Anyways hope you can work somethin out to get it back in better shape

go back and burn the shop down ! lol  just playing but yea kind in the same situation....

sorry to hear you had some bad experience.. you shoulda hit me up for my paint and body work! we offer PPG 2-stage paint w/ 5 year warranty and coulda at least took off your hood mascot.. i cant believe these guys charged you that much and didnt do a quality job. I know how it is to trust body shops with your project cars thats why I try to explain every customer what exactly is going to be done to the vehicle and just for peace of mind my customers can come check out there ride while its being worked on.

It now gets worse..........I saw my hood when I picked it up from the shop, It was like 2pm and the light didnt really hit and the car was dirty. I took it home and cleaned it and when I was a t a gas station under the artificial light I saw that hood isnt even the slightest match to my car! I post pics of the horror later tonight!

Those were takin at a gas station because as we all know florecent lights show how the paint really looks and finally heres some extra presents in the form of scuffs and scratches and a corrosive haze left for me by the great guys at Executives Garage

don't worry your not the only one that got f'd there. Executive garage is actually my boys shop. The back part of executive garage is ran by someone else, the paint area. So exec garage is totally different from the paint and body shop. Wait! Is this the one off of mission gorge/fairmont?

Yea, but i guess they got like 3 shops but I went to the one in Santee. All in all though my recipt says Executives Garage and the work was done by them so in my book they're to blame for this, Hopefully when I bring it down there on tuesday they will fix it and not fuck it up worse but hey if u can, tell ur boy to contact me!

Sucks.  Most shops are hit or miss.  I've had plenty of issues with the 6 body shops I dealed with in the past.

How did you get the issues resolved.....please pm me bro I need any advice I can get with this.

i havent had a single repaint on any panel that i was completely satisfied with. shops that do good work are few and far between. and even then they get lazy or get slammed with cars and rush the work. unless you know the painter personally or you drop grands and grands and tell them take their time you will not get a good paintjob. im over getting things painted. im REALLY considering putting vinyl on.

Update********* I picked my car up for the 3rd time......And the hood was still shitty with orange peel and imperfections on it. I was told to let the paint cure for a month or two and they would wet sand and buff it also. Not to mention they still didnt remove the overspray thats all over my front end. Needless to say I paid them a extra 200$ to blend the fenders and remove that also. Okay so two months later......Paint is still fucked and I am ready to take it back to have them paint it. Well the day before comes and I find out they are refusing to do so.....Why? because of this thread LOL....For some reason they are really sad and shit about it so they are flat out refusing to do the work to my car and revmove their fuck ups.  Also they blame me for this because they said that it was my fault for not taking off the orniment and that I am too blame.. I am not writing this to talk shit about these guys but rather to  inform you of this shops dealings with me....If I cans ay anything it would be always check the shop before you use them because while they smile when you come in and give your money they can be you enemy when you pick your ride up....Stay posted for pics and welll feel free to check out their work when i hit up the next meet!

Makes me a little axious to get my car back and see how this shop mines is at did :turbonoes_3:.....I got lifetime warrenty though so it WILL be going back if it aint done right :rules:

yup. this is f**ked up because:
 
1) "you should have took it off": retarded bs. if you brought them a trunk would they say it was your job to remove emblems? ok... if you REALLY want to stretch it, they could have said that before hand instead of trying to get away with it.
 
2) the color match is trash.
 
3) the overspray.
 
4) they made you pay extra for fixing their mistakes.
 
5) they didn't fix the mistakes.
 
6) they aren't going to fix the mistakes.
 
i hate when i see s**t like this. ok, so the s**ts f**ked up... man up and fix it. but the part that REALLY gets to me is when people act like you're not supposed to be upset. you know how to keep ppl from talking bad about you? DON'T DO GARBAGE WORK! HAVE GOOD BUSINESS PRACTICES! MAKE THINGS RIGHT! how the f**k are you gonna cry about a dissatisifed customer? that means YOU didn't do YOUR job?
 
i'd sue them or ride, depending on your disposition.

somes times if  the deal is too good to be true .. you gotta check yourself ..
 
Good shops are a dime a dozen ..but GREAT shops are expensive and hard to find ..

I just dont know about taking it back because everytime I get it back I get more overspray and more scratches....but atleast i got it all on my camera

take it to court then, sue them for damages and time lost.

sucks man. like everyone else said, reputable shops that do great work are far and few between. just chalk it up to the game.

i've heard of people have had terrible experience with shops that have otherwise FAB reviews from everyone else.

i've dealt with these idiots myself and they did the air suspension install on my car. it was a nightmare! nas is super unprofessional and it got to the point to where he started cussing and talking with an attitude with me.

it was 5,000 for a custom setup and the front, when aired out, was actually higher than my lowering springs! both bags blew up because they didn't even check if my tires/wheels would clear them and they cut up my strut tower mount to get the car to drop more, but it didn't do anything. they didn't a shitty job of cutting it up too.

they were also late in giving my car back like 7 times. they kept promising over and over again the car would be done when it really wasn't. pretty sure it's because these guys have no idea what they're doing when it comes to air suspension. when they couldn't figure out the issue, they said i had to spend another $1,000 on some struts for my car to drop it. they even used shitty compressors that flowed little air and they burned out a month later. the wiring also caught on fire because they didn't use the proper gauge or fuse and it was mounted too far from the battery, according to my electrician.

i should've sued these guys for everything.

edit: and another thing came to mind, they ran the air lines right beside my differential and about 3 months later the line actually got a hole in it and it wasn't even DOT-approved lines! it cost me another $2,000 worth of parts and labor to fix their mistakes. DON'T DEAL WITH EXECUTIVES GARAGE, THEY ARE A JOKE!

I sincerely hate to hear this crap dude!  We have a family owned body shop that is second generation, has been around for nearly fifty years.  Every shop has their share of mistakes, but this is rediculous man.  Hope you get some closure with this, or they get whats coming to them.

:smiley-rofl:lol..what a fuckin' joke...dude, cut your loses and go somewhere else...looks like he doesn't even have the correct paint code...and i hope you don't let them blend the fenders with that color...tell them to show you a spray out panel so at least you know the color is somewhat close (of course that is rediculous that a customer needs to check up on his own car)...if they don't get it right, they will blend again and chase in the the front doors...then your bumper will be way off as well and i bet you'd be able to see the blend on the front doors...not to mention what other damages might take place when they R&I the doors...

unless its a solid color, a good shop would have known to blend fenders on initial estimate...and if you wanted to save some money, any good painter would have gotten that shit way closer...that looks like a pretty easy color to butt match too....

sux to hear...just go to those shops that don't advertise and just go by word of mouth only.

 Well I went to the B.A.R. and my rep that I got was awesome. He really tried to help me out and here's the f'ed up shit that ensued. After my B.A.R. rep went to to their Mission Valley location they told the my rep that I was the "Asshole" and its was still my fault and they kept citing this thread as their reason for not wanting to work with me. However they wanted to fix my paint because my rep told them that the job they did was wrong and they did not do their duty to me. So I got a call from their new paint manager who I would later find out didn't even work for them but worked next door to them and was hired to fix my problem. This guy assured me that my paint would be perfect, my car would be sanded and buffed and washed and it would only take 3 days to do. Well 5 days later I came for my car to find it not washed not buffed and with the over spray still on it and the "new" manager not even there. They did SEEM to match my paint but I want to see how well it holds up. When they gave the car back the hood was also really f'in dull and I had to buff the shit out of it and hit the over spray with a clay bar. I am going to hold my personal feelings out of this matter but I want to let this thread be a warning to everyone about shops like these.

Jesus christ nice color match hahaha, damn next time I would just ask around before going to a new shop.
