clear bra

question:

Will putting a clear bra on the car make the paint seem to "POP" less?

It would make it pop more no? I'm sure initially after you pull it off it will be quiet dull, but I mean now you can actually polish the paint itself instead of having this clear vinyl like material over it.

my advice is stay away from clear bra's. thats  just from my own personal experience

i meant will the paint be dull after i put the bra ON

the paint itself wont be dull. but you wont get the same shine from the clearbra as you will from paint.

if you keep the clear bra waxed it will shine better than your paint

I personally am not a fan.  Why pay money to protect your paint while making it less attractive?  Then when its time to remove it, you can potentially damage your paint anyway.

Just repaint your bumper when you need to.

+1 on that. i have repainted the nose on my car Every year for the past three years. 
the quality of the clear bra's has seemed to improve over the years though

i waxed mine and it was HORRIBLE. just saying. hopefully 3m and the other companies have gotten better with their product.

llumars v3 as of right now is the best. but i still wont istall the stuff until its perfect

ive heard its gotten better as of late and SHOULD wax just like paint.  If i get the whole bumper and hood done, and not just a portion, the ends can tuck under the panels so there will be no visable cut off.  Ive also read that as long as the clear bra is of high quality, it doesnt contain those uv inhibitors that damage the paint.  The reason im even asking is because im painting my car soon, and i know the first chip is going to HURTTT.  its a custom color, so i dont know how reasonable itll be to paint it every year.  I def dont want to lose its shine tho, as thats the whole reason behind the color change, to pop and have more presence on the road.  all your comments are being considered, and ill def do more research before pulling the trigger.

I repainted my bumper, hood, and fenders about two years ago and also had the clear bra added on. The only thing is that you will have to wait about three weeks before the clear bra can be placed on. If you're going to clear bra the hood, I would suggest looking for a company who will do the entire hood. You might have to call around but I'm glad I covered the whole hood because it is not noticeable. But the only problem I have with the clear bra is that if a bird poops on it, you have to wipe it off ASAP because it could leave a stain. The only thing that removes the stain is if you take the car to a good detailer. This is going to sound nasty, but you also have to make sure to soak the bird poop to make it soft because if it is still hard and you try to wipe it off, even with spraying a quick detailer on it, the clear bra will scratch. 

But to be honest, I wished I would have gotten the clear bra when I purchased the car because repainting it was a pain and costly.

yup the only way to get a seemless job is to do whole fenders and hood.  s60 is right about the bird crap aswell.  most are now made with a thick top coat that can be taken down like wet sanded but they use alcohol to bring back the brand new shine.  it can usually be done only twice though.

ahh yea, if i do pull the trigger on a clear bra, itll def be the entire hood and fenders so it appears seamless.
