My 1968 Cadillac Coupe Deville project!!
Alright Fellas,
I picked up this 68 Caddy about 2 months ago and it already went under surgery!! Motor is fully rebuilt and now it's body work and paint time.
Exterior: I plan on shaving everything on the side (corner lights, moldings, door handles, emblems). Vinyl top is removed and going to be completely painted body color.
Suspension: I plan on airbagging all four corners to be layed out on frame. flush fitment??
Wheels: Due to financial reasons i might go with stock hubcaps and fat whitewalls. If things are going good financially I'll probably go with a 22 inch rim or maybe 24s??
Paint: All ready have a color in mind but i'll leave that for you guys when it's painted.
Let me know what you guys think??'
Here are two completed caddy's for motivation:biggthumpup:
And here is my baby

The red one is BEAUTY!! Personally, I really like the front corner lights, but agree with shaving everything else.

keep the corner light!!!
just make sure to buy a nice *new* one so it looks even more baller.
I think a high gloss black or dark burgandy would be the best color choices.

Thanks for the compliments guys!
I'm going to shave the corner light for sure....it was soo hard taking it off so imagine putting it back in.
Anyone knows who can make a custom billet grille?

Hmmm, not sure but maybe Master Image Customs. If I remember correctly they stamp metal too. Like if you take a tailgate or fender they can stamp a design like Z3 fenders. Not sure if it was MiC or not. Might be a good starting point. Mini Truckin mag would be a good source too.

Update on the Caddy:
Shaved entire side of the car including the fender light.
Patched all rust spots.
Currently just finished blocking and ready for the second stage of primer.

From what I heard, he's doing the bodywork at his own shop. I also heard he finished it, or is close to finishing it.

More like Cencal, lol. His shop is in Oakdale, It's called Masters Auto Body. We had a meet there back in October. A couple of the Bay Area guys rolled out, it was pretty cool.

Bags and 22s are the move for these cars.
I've done a '62, a '64, '65, and '66, all convertibles, all on air. The 62, 65, and 66 all have injected LS1s and overdrive transmissions. I'd have a set of steelies with wide whites and a set of custom 22s with a massive rear lip.
Now that we've finished the Caddies we're building five Conti convertibles - two 61s, two 64s, and a 67.
I'll grab a few pics of the Caddies...
