both you cant go back
i like to roll fenders, because it makes the arch stronger
shaving makes it weaker

Heat gun and take your time. I didn't crack my 10 year old paint.

becareful where you shave, as you will weaken the structural integrety of the fender. roll what you can and only shave everywhere else.

Thats why in Australia it is very illegal to shave the fender. If caught, you'll get a fine and cant drive the car until it has been fixed (i.e. new quarter panels welded on).

AFAIK all cars can be rolled; its just a matter of whether you will need to get the quarter panels painted afterwards (i'd rather pay to have that done, then drive around knowing i could get forced to pay for fixing the fenders, only to be back where i started from!)

Well, more and more companies are using plastic bumpers, so in that case it can't be rolled.

edit: fenders, not bumpers.

Ah, fair enough... Those laws only refer to cutting the metal part of the fender (the fender is considered a structural component). Cutting the bumpers should be ok i think

Kinda makes sense really. Anything which weakens the structural integrity of the car, or makes it more dangerous for other drivers, is a defect which must be fixed before you can drive it again...
