UCF 30/31 question
in terms of the looks of the bodies, are the headlights and tailights interchangeable? what about front left and front right quarters? i researched up on the subject and apparently there were slight cosmetic differences. but that doesnt really entail much to me, this is pretty much leaning to a conversion kinda question, any experience would be appreciated

You can change the front end by replacing the front bumper, front fenders, headlights and hood. The rear requires tailights, trunk, bumper and exhaust = full body conversion.. Straight bolt on..

you will need the headlight brackets for the front as well

If you want an 04-06, the difference in asking price between those years and 01-03 is not much. Personally I would purchase an 04-06 to save the hassle and price involved with this conversion – unless I could get a truly great deal on the parts required.
However, you will need: headlight supports, front bumper, fog lights, headlights, hood, grill (good opportunity to go with an emblemless or billet one), front quarter panels, trunk lid, taillights (4 pieces), rear emblems and bar – they are different from the 01-03s, and possibly a rear bumper if you want to complete the look (the 01-03 bumper is compatible).
For the headlight conversion, I have never looked into how you would make the lights swivel with the steering. But from what I understand, the motor from the 01-03 is interchangeable with 04-06. This way the auto level stays functional but it won’t swivel.
Wiring the tail lights is not the easiest. From what I read the wire colors match up but you may run into the issues of tail lamp failure message appearing on the gauge cluster.
As long as you have the time, dexterity, and a good parts supplier, you’ll be fine if this path is taken.

yea at this point it seems almost pointless to even want to do a conversion. i didnt plan on leaving the kit stock. i just wanted the headlights and tailights of the ucf31. ive been looking around at some 31's and they are like 4k-5k more than the ucf30. i guess the question to myself now would be the long term of it all. i dont plan on ever getting anything else, this will be my second car and im pretty set on getting it so there isnt really a reason to cheap out.

Get the 31.. the Interior upgrades like Bluetooth and other stuff are not as easy or cheap to intergrate like the body... If your still interested in a 30. I have an 02 Ultra Lux in good condition I'm considering putting it up for sale to get something with a shorter wheelbase.

^ I'm with him on that statment. Simply not worth the pain in the ass labor and time not to mention the cost and time to source all the parts and troubleshooting issues "YOU WILL" have.
I miss and loved my 04 Ultra Luxury LS430.
