Houston- What it do?

I'm going to plan a short trip down there.  Where should I book the hotel?  I don't care if it is in or near the hood, I just don't want a place that is far from Downtown and in the middle of the dessert.  Let me know where I should look to book.  Thanks

HAHAHA there is a hotel off of 45 north that has a whataburger infront of it if you want i can get you better directions oh and you gotta eat at tan tan with us
