Cima F50 and your Pillars!
Qfour5 showed a lot of interest in what i did. So here it is :)
Tape off frames I used some good tape from Lowes the white 3m sticks better than blue tape for this
big can of wd-40
get a good painters paper
Jasco Paint remover
a 1in and 2in brisel brushes.
go to town! haha brush on more as needed. use old tuperware for pouring.
use wd40 and a rag to wipe away, try to keep as much of the remover and debris off paper
Now if you have a automotive paint supply store that supply to paint shops go there for:
320grit use as dry
now use 400 grit and spray wd-40 on the pillars use this as a wet sanding instead of water.
same as above with 500, 800, 1000, 1500, 2000, if you can find, 3000, and then 4000.
The 2000 and 4000 you can get on a orbital sander they are foam sandpaper pads, work well with the wd-40 too.
once achieved with the 4000 i used a metal polisher wheel from lows on a drill. make sure when its bolted and in use dont hit the piller with that bolt.. you will have to repeat process. I know< lol
use polish sticks 5, and 6. now if you dont have any defects clear coat and let be. I used valspar hi-gloss clear from lowes. This stuff is awesome!! two coats min, let dry for a few days, then you can wet sand if there is no dirt. Since my pillars were not perfect. I cleared them, then scuffed it
all with a red scotch brite over all the clear and uniformed to make it look like brushed stainless.
pics with steps in order kinda. didnt take to many pics due to being messy

thanks! it was a lot of fun. hard work, but fun. I could have bought the addon pieces but i wanted it to be apart of the door. Taking ideas from rolls, and maybach to the car. Most like a lot of people with vip rides i guess haha. also it was my first time doing this, i did one side then the other, only to match the first side to the second side. haha oh well i recommend it to anyone who has a passion for cars.. nothing like polishing some metal. also helps when you dont have any beer, and all you have is some ice cold champagne lol

I think it came out great I might talk to Nate and have them do this also when I drop my car off there eventually. This is more of what I wanted to do then just adding chrome or polihsed pillars I love the look I just hated having the black border still there. I am really feeling this right now.

The brushed look of the pillars and the chrome on the door handles and window outline clash IMO.

Its funny you guys mention the door handles. I am going about it soon. Since it's my only set, I dont want to ruin them. But here is my thought on how to do so:
Since the pillars were almost chrome to begin with, with added clear coat, then scuffed to make a brushed finish. I figure the handles i can do as well, they are plastic and do not scuff the way the pillars do.. In fact the pillars only scuffed out like that due to the clear coat.
I have been really sick with the awesome cold bug so haven't got to the chance of doing them. I will clear coat them maybe to night or this week and try it out. I am in the process of doing all the headliner and pillar trim in black Liz Claiborne edition suede lol. so far so good.. but not done. Thanks for your interest. And sorry for lack of updates.
Will have better pics soon :) I promise
