Yearly maintance and check ups? y33

ok so after bringing my car to my freinds shop to replace a foglight bulbs i noticed my tie rods are really shot.i didnt even notice it while driving everyday.so im wondering how often do u change these tie rods? and how often do u do a transmission drain and fill? i have done one drain and fill since i bought the car a year and half ago.tranny is still shifting great. right now im on jic coilovers and wondering if this is the problem making my tie rods go bad? and since i have got my coilovers on most shops wont do my alignment so im stuck shredding tires up.anyone know a fender rolling and alignment shop that can help me out in queens new york???? any how im full of question hope someone can help me out.

i try to do my tranny fluid change atleast once a year. oil at your normal intervals. if you havent changed your fuel filter yet it probably be good to get that done also. the tie rod(tension rod) is pretty normal wearing out on a 100k car. you can replace the bushing if your running stock or just get some adjustable s14 tie rods. as far as the alignment i would say ask the drifters in your area since there suspension is lowered and cambered also. That way the alignment shop should know how to adjust your camber arms etc. since they do drift cars. just a thought. hope that helps.

LOL true true!!!

beachbum - damn 65k.. NICE!! i got double that on my 99Q!! you can run the adjustable tension rods from s13/s14 like SPL, JIC, Tein, PBM etc. My bushings are shot on mine but i plan on using after market ones probably PBM. The only thing you need to worry bout really from my experience is the knock sensors going out it is a bi** changing those! Other than that your regular scheduled maintenance should keep your ride running till 200k. Ive changed the knock sensors, spark plugs, fan clutch, belts, cabin filters, fuel filter and trans filter all within the last 3 yrs. But my car has 127k. Hope that helps. I would def suggest searching on nico about upkeep. Alot of help/info maintenance wise on there.

Good info on NICO for maintenance intervals. I actually have the VIPStyle/Car mag that has the maintenance article for changing filters oils and plugs etc.

But yeah it's expected to spend about 1500-2500 on maintenance a year for these cars.

check this link for the shop manual. just click on your year. it should help you out for what ever year Q you own. as far as the in cabin air filters they are located behind the glove box. i got the filters from ebay and they are sh**y quality. i would go with oem. it cost alot more but the fit and quality is way better. hope this helps.
