im thinking of doing a vip style camry any opinions on this of am i just wasting my time?
You can vip style anything. If this is the older Camry like 91 or so Boso-style would be AWESOME!
its a little rounder of a style its either going scepter parts or holden apollo
Gotta question why you want to do a Camry? Is it because thats the car you have and couldnt be bothered selling/buying something more appropriate? You will have zero aftermarket support, no vip parts, and no information on wheel offsets and limits. If you are good with DIY and willing to put the effort in, you can make it look ok, but it will be a hell of alot of work; without any guarantee that it will pull off the look

here is why i want to do a camry first there is alot more aftermarket then you think second i have never been conventional for example i own a drift set up z31 which everybody said would be to heavy and to get a s13(had one and hated it) then i owned 3 s12s which have no aftermarket support. You'll know if you made it when you can see yourself parking next to 'conventional' vip car without feeling out of place. And if not, well you know what they say "shoot for the moon and even if you fail you will be amongst the stars". Sure will look better than a stock Camry!

Youll be fighting an uphill battle the entire time and personally i think your wasting your time, theres plenty of better "unconventional" choices than one of the most recognizable commuter family sedans ever made... like a jaguar, early infinitis such as the g20, i could go on for some time. Itll be a whole lot easier if you at least start with a luxury car for shits sake.
being as it is an xle it already has leather interior and a little better stance i guess only time will tell and if it werent a camry id probably do a avalon

Im sure you will be able to find what your looking for there regarding DIY info, part info, Offsets and limits and then ofcourse, head back over here to update us on your progress!
I don't know how to answer this. I currently have a Camry, so I can't say they're not a trusty reliable and 'sensible' car...... For a daily. I can't say you can't get a nice looking modded car with some wheels and suspension. I can't say you couldn't get a VIP [COLOR=Magenta]kinda-style[COLOR=Magenta]d[/COLOR][/COLOR][COLOR=Magenta] build[/COLOR] that looks reasonable, (based on the fact I've seen some real nice es300s/windoms) I can[U] guarantee[/U], however, you will waste every cent trying to achieve a VIP build that [COLOR=Yellow]WON'T[/COLOR] be recognised by the [COLOR=Lime]MAJORITY [/COLOR]of people in the scene and for that money and effort you will be disappointed with the reactions people give you. If your up for the challenge then I would love to see what you come up with (don't get me wrong =)) but the money is far better spent on a more [U]credible[/U] build. [COLOR=Cyan]A Camry, is exactly that. [/COLOR] If you must have a Camry for whatever reason you will be much better off going a different route with your mods. Some people (I'm not suggesting you do) chase the VIP title for reasons I can't figure out. I find they think its as easy as just-black paint, 4 doors, euro wheels and a dark tint. Like I said, give it a go, and see if you can prove the MAJORITY wrong but if you're after back slaps and high fives, you might be barking up the wrong tree. Take care -and- good luck :biggthumpup:

please do it. i'm no longer a camry owner, but i have driven a sv21. there's just something about the cars. Now, i have a Peugeot, a bmw E30, and a volvo. I really wanna see something done with a old camry. get a all wheel drive (all trac) 2nd gen camry. insanely fun cars.
