wheel originality discussion

Ok, so I've finally posted my 240 for sale (a serious for sale) and am looking at y33 as my VIP platform. I've been into the scene for about 2 1/2 years now so I've seen tons of cars with many different wheels...

My dilemma is; I'll be the only true VIP style car in my local area, so running the "traditional" VIP wheels would be original for my area. But at the same time these wheels are "played out" in the VIP community (think FN01RC for 240s and ROTA for Honda/Acura). Now, I love Euroline DH/D3s, SSR Vienna Kreis, and others but they seem to be the most widely used wheel on the site.

Guess my question is; do I go with what I love (and original in my local scene) or try to be a little different to the whole VIP community and try a different wheel?

I think if you get a group to decide what you should do, that gets away from your true goal of originality.  Does that make sense?   I guess my inclination would be to tell you to do what you like.  Are you set on building a car that everyone else loves and is period/style correct, or building what you truly want?   For all you know, you could be part of a new breed if you think of something original and make it work.   Do what makes YOU happy, not what makes it look "the most VIP".

If you care about online fame, getting on blogs, etc. then get something more original.  You will most likely never run into anyone with the same rims.  Get what you like

go with what you love. at the end of the day its still your car, u are the one that has to look at it, you are the one that has to drive it. make yourself happy. fcuk everyone else.

Good. I'm not trying to be some trend setter or online hero/celebrity. Its going to be my car, that I drive everyday and at the end of the day, I'm the only one who cares if I love it or not.

I agree with what everyone is saying, buy a wheel that you love, that will work with your overall plan of what your car is going to look like when completed.  For instance I am buying a set of Ordens, I have lusted after these wheels for five years.  The fact that they are becoming more common on VSC and elsewhere does not matter to me.  As these wheels will set my car off and make ME happy.  

I am sure you will find the right wheels for your car!

i agree with everyone! get the wheels that YOU love! it does matter what others say is "VIP" or not.  "VIP" to me is what and how you customize YOUR car.... 
the next set of wheels i'm getting are non-vip, but i've loved them ever since i started moding cars. i won't care what others think, cause i'm the one that's driving it.
just a thought....

everyone has leon hardiritt ordens. but i am still considering them because they are one of my favorite wheels

i love ordens, i love scaras. if i could find a set in the right sizes for prices i could actually afford id be all over them, till then im stuck rocking something else i like =)

Def get what u want (provided that yer suspension is purchased) and even do photoshop requests if necessary. Although your area isnt atuned to this style doesnt mean you cant keep up with this styles progression either, just a thought. GL!

Get what you want. For me that changes often so I don't think I'll ever be truly satisfied.

Not really a knockoff. Just an affordable & average quality wheel.

i think i'm gonna wait till i get cash for the right used wheels from the sponsor or a member,looks like a amistad knockoff:pat:
